Father's Day Jam

After working in the yard this morning my family said what do you want to do today. I said leave me alone in my studio. They did and this is the quick and dirty jam that came out of today's work.

BiaB style = Jazz Rock 16th Quartet w/electric piano
Tempo = 100 BPM

I deleted the bass and guitar tracks.

Piano = Keys of the 70's - preset Stage Mark 32. I modified the track to better fit the song.
Drums = Steven Slate SSD 5 - Deluxe = preset Funk 2
Percussion - GM Soundfont

I am playing the guitar (Kramer NightRider) and the bass (Squire P-Bass) both through Amplitube presets.

The only FX is the Presonus Compression on the main output.

I was just having some fun but let me know what you think of this little quick and dirty and quirky jam.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware

Mario

Has a 70's vibe going. The guitar is very atmospheric and covered in reverb.

Nice jamming.

Whoa (spoken in a very deep voice). Fun jam, Mario. I like how the guitar and bass work together.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Used to do stuff like this back in the 70's, just get a cool groove going and jam over it forever. I miss those days!

Fun jam, Mario, enjoyed!

Hi MarioD,

The Hammond organ and the sound of the guitar come together in perfect symbiosis. It is very pleasant to listen to. Well done.

Nice guitar playing. I think it would work well for a movie soundtrack. Some kind of spy adventure, etc. Good backing band too.

'MarioD'...

Yes, sir, the 70's live on through your 'Father's Day Jam'! It's got a 'Riders on the Storm' kind of ambience to it. Thumbs-up on your electric guitar and bass performances, too.

Sounding good! The drums and bass work well. I would have liked the keys to sit back in the mix more, and the gtr brought up more front and center.

Thanks for sharing.

I think Peter pretty much nailed it.

My goodness, sounds like some good jamming. Kinda reminds me of the sound from the song in the sixties, "Riders On The Storm" by the Doors!!

Hi Mario,

You described pretty much my father's day...
And see what can come out of that!
I like that baseline a lot in the melody. Nice sound. As Scott mentioned, you can play this for hours (although he meant to make a loop from it).

What can we expect on the 4th of july?

Have a nice day,
Hans

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
