I want to copy a portion of a vocal track to another track then nudge the second track by a millisecond or so to achieve vocal thickness. I have seen this and used it in Reaper, but is there a similar function in RB? Can't seem to find a way.

Try this;
Copy and paste to the new track, but paste with a slight offset, for example, instead of position 1:1:000, paste at 1:1:010.
You can experiment with offset amounts to taste.

Hope this is helpful.

Vintage

edit;
To further enhance the thickening, you can detune the doubled track by a couple of cents and/or add different level of reverb.

Similarly adding a delay to the 2nd track with one repeat and the appropriate timing can give the same effect.

You can also highlight the section you want to nudge (on the extra track)
Hold down the CTRL key and drag it a smidge .. of course zooming in makes this a little easier to get accurate.

And rharv rant once again; setting the resolution in RB to 3840 (instead of default 120) gives a LOT more accuracy and zoomability. For both MIDI and Audio tracks.

Editing becomes a lot less 'clunky' when you can move it 1/3840 of a beat compared to 1/120 ... basically 32X more accurate edits,

3840/120 = 32 .. so for every 'nudge' I can do at 120, I can do 32 different ones at 3840
At least that's the way my simple mind works.
When you think of it in milliseconds (which requires considering the tempo as part of the equation) it gets even more exacting for quicker tempos ..

/crap I went into work mode again
//just raise your Resolution (under Options - Resolution) for more accurate edits

Thanks Bob. Good information. Funny how a person can hear good advice many times without adopting it until the reason for doing it gets applied to a problem that drives us nuts. Time for me to make this change

Ear Training Games in Band-in-a-Box® for Windows

October 1, 2021 is National Kids Music Day!

Head to the Practice Window in Band-in-a-Box® for Windows, and you'll see fun games that are fun ear training options for kids: Music Replay & Pitch Invasion.

Of course, you don't have to be a kid to like these games, I think there a fun way to learn at any age!

Music Replay is just what it sounds like - the program plays a 1-bar melody, and the user plays it back. Get it right, and you'll keep building that melody (and skill) within the game - get it wrong, and you'll be met with a warning tone and have to try again... it's quite addictive, and a lot of fun!

If you like a classic arcade game, then you'll love Pitch Invasion! We've managed to incorporate aliens with pitch-recognition skills in this exciting game, where you'll match the pitch of the alien ship descending towards your planet trying to destroy your collection of instruments - match the pitch and you've saved your instruments, make a mistake and the ship keeps coming... you'll have a few tries to get it right, if you're quick, but if all your instruments are destroyed - it's game over! The game speeds up as your skills improve, and you'll earn points along the way, with bonus points available throughout the game.

Open up your Band-in-a-Box® for Windows today to give it a try!

These ear training games are also included in Musical Arcade for Windows.
