Marty, the high pass would be on the bass BUT yes, the stereo drum file is hard yakka to mix. I hadn't watched the video but I have now...interesting coincidence that my current vid project is a lyric one...no me!

Brilliant! So much fun. The mix is so clear, too. Nothing to criticise, comment, etc. - just a really fun track that had me foot-tapping all the way through! You make it look easy - it's not as easy as it sounds to create something like this, by any means ... so bravo :-)

Catching up on the music here..... and wow.... you got a good one here.
Glad I dropped in.
I think you nailed that roll rock and roll vibe and the clarinet solo was a perfect choice of instruments.
I enjoyed that song.

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Great groove and I really enjoyed your exuberant singing on this one. Excellent work! Hi, TuneMonger! Thanks for the spin and encouraging comment. Catchy and toe-tapping. Honestly, you had me at the title. Great backing tracks with a groove that doesn't stop. Sounds great on my speakers. Your vocal is upbeat and enthusiastic, and the harmonies are a treat. Really fun! Thanks so much, David. Yeah, this all started with the title. Those harmonies are at the top of my range --maybe a bit over it. Twice I had to raise an F#ish note to a G in Melodyne. I used to be able to go much higher, but now I'm at least a step and a half older. Marty,
Love the write—and the melody that goes with—you have a nice way of touching that inner toe-tapping self. Great harmonies on that chorus . . . and on that bridge. You are a talented songwriter. And, boy, that clarinet solo just slays. Great stuff!
All my best to you,
Deej Thanks for you kind comment, Deej. I really like how that clarinet came out. It seemed quite unusual for the piece, but I was happy it seemed to be perfect right out of the box. No regenerations or multi riffs were used in the making of that solo. Marty. HOLY MOLY ! one word SUPERB... loved the use of vocal doubles/harmonies etc etc. a great song write imho.
loved that tremelo gtr in the background. and the way you did the ending. lovely last note hold mate.
i mean it sincerely,... THIS IS A GREAT SONG IN THE VEIN OF THE CLASSICS/GREATS that youve written. VERY CATCHY. this song should be studied in songwriting course 101 re how to build "hooky riffs" in a song.
count me very VERY impressed/happiness. om Man, what a wonderful comment, om. You made my day, man.

Hello Marty,
It's an interesting song. It's a song just like the time of its birth when rock and roll separates from old jazz. Nice groove! Your singing is great. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best Regards.
Shigeki Adachi Thanks, Shigeki Adachi. I love that time of music. Just a brilliant song, absolutely one of your best, Marty.
Everything about it just works, outstanding write, great arrangement (love the clarinet), vocals are stellar, good mix.
And to top it off, the video is fabulous.
Love it! Thanks, Dave!!! What's next? That was damned good. Well played and well written. You found a great melody in that tune. Cool video too.
Golden lyric alert:
"So step outside of your slumber, and stare back into your dream."
Nice. Thanks, jptjptjpt! Yeah, I like when that line came through. It says it perfectly. Rock and Roll with a swinging clarinet solo!
I really enjoyed this tune good old-time rock and roll. There is something about this that makes me think of Elvis Costello (perhaps an influence of yours?).
Great melody, your voice sounds great when you jump up to higher pitches during the verse.
The video's great. Where did you get the clips? Really cool lyric sliding around effects, is that hard to do?
Thanks for sharing Thank you, frank. Glad you like it. The video clips are from pexels.com; the stills are mine. Those effects are easy with the software. I use Camtasia, but a lot of them have that ability.

Hi Marty,
These kind of joyful songs I really like from you, as I wrote you before. It always looks as if you have a lot of fun making them. Not that I don't have fun while making music, but in your case pleasure can be heard in the song.
And didn't I tell you that your lyrics are very cleverly written? Well, they are!
Enjoyed the song very much, Marty! No wrong notes in it ;-)

Sounds like a party, Marty. I can hear this in a movie. Vic Thanks, Vic. maybe an old surfer movie with Annette Funicello. hehe Hi Marty. Great work putting this entertaining track together. Always love the animated enthusiasm of your vocal . Clarinet and R&R , who would have thunk it? But you made it work. "Teach them all the 3 chords. Then give each one a pink Cadillac, and let them fill in these words because" Yes-sir-eeeeee! Band sounds good and the singer is at the top of his game. Fun Fun Fun. regards Gary ( I grin it as I spin it) Right? Clarinet? Thanks, Gary Marty,
This is great - love the song and vocal. The clarinet was an awesome touch!
Excellent!
Bob Thanks so much, Bob!

Catchy old style rock'n'roll. Smiling meta lyrics, clever title You have clearly found the songwriting horn of plenty and the Midas Touch of creativity. Lovely arrangement, like the introduction of the MIDI piano. The clarinet solo is excellent, I wish that some day we have also slow and even clarinet solos in BIAB. Your singing sounds very relaxed and happy. Janne

Hi Marty Wow, this is really hep cat! You knocked it out of the park with the feel you were going for! When you sing the chorus, ("I'm in it for the minute") it's just like Bill Haley is singing into that Electro Voice microphone with you. And that big band sound you got happening would even make Brian Setzer start to wonder if you stole his orchestra! The amusing lyrics also make for a fun listen. But my question is, Where do I sing up to learn these 3 chords you're talking about? And if you run out of pink Cadillacs, I'd settle for and old brown Rambler... HA!

It looks like I'm late to the party too. Did I just step into a time machine? "Like the cherry on the whipping"? Hmmmm! Ooooo. Like that clarinet solo. That's great. Cool song. Catchy as hell. Great vocal and harmony. Oh yeah, the bass is good too.

I remember seeing Bill Haley and HIS comets once and they had no bass player. Can you imagine? The guitar player played some of the bass parts here and there. And I believe he DID have an Electrovoice 667 --the old style. Haha. The first car I had to drive was my mom's 1959 Nash-Rambler station wagon with push-button drive. It was green. Marty

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
