I'm a gospel music writer and the great thing about composing "gospel, praise and worship and all Christian music" is that it's no holds barred on the genre you wish to present it in...so I like to move around and experiment with as BiaB would say, "not in the same genre" works...I like the blues and even though "Christian/Blues" seems like an oximoron it isn't...it's just that Christian/Blues is happy blues and not blue blues...case in point:

"I Can't Help It"
Key E @ 106BPM

BiaB components; STHRKJN.STY
1012 Bass
1566 Piano
957 Electric Guitar
958 Electric Guitar

I added the lead vox, some piano licks, the B3 organ plus the drums and BGV's from my Yamaha Genos

Hi Firesong,

This song is right up my alley - Blues and Gospel - Yes!

The song has some nice light and shade with the organ and the change of key.

Best Regards
Nigel

Same here.

Your vocal is outstanding. The backing tracks are fantastic. But the lyrics took it over the top for me!

Loved it!

classic cute song.
nice bgv's and key changes
if you dont mind me saying...the vocs seem to exude more and more confidence as the song progresses..

sometimes what i do is a scratch vocal as i'm always nervous on first takes.
then with the first take coming back in the cans, i always find second take is better, cos ive lost my nerves.

loved that yell near end ...

best to you/happy songwriting
om

Hi Dan...
Wow! Fantastic!
Shades of Elvis and his old Gospel Album...
Kind of brings it full circle, I guess.
The rock singers of the 50's like Elvis and Ray Charles borrowed a lot of gospel and mixed it with a touch of blues.
Really enjoyed it, thanks for posting!

Mario...glad you enjoyed.

Justan...thanks for the tip about takes...I'm not overly particular about my vocals these days...I always think they suck and the first one is probably as good as any...I consider my vocals as demos in the hope that someone else or one of my children will come back and record it better...my vocal chops are about gone...this vocal was recorded a few years back.

Bawb...love Elvis and that era of bluesy-rock. rockabilly, etc...glad you enjoyed...thanks so much fellas!

VOcals were great - wish I could sing as well. Mix sounded particularly strong to me as well. A good effort all around.

YES!! The Blues IS good news, that's gospel, Dan. I knew I'd hear those gospel gals in the background. A very well developed song, and a great presentation.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Dan,

I often chuckle at the phrase "Christian/Blues" but it's a legitimate genre! Man do you ever know how to lay down a great vocal....it's got that Elvis gospel thing going on here! Great work! Thanks, Torrey

Torrey...Elvis huh? (yeah in my dreams)...Elvis loved gospel quartets...he used the Blackwood's and the Imperials and others as backup groups...my first musical passion as a youngster were the great quartets...got to open once for the Cathedrals once...maybe the best of them all IMO...thanks for listening and commenting...Dan

We love the blues and we particularly love a blues shuffle.

So it is right in our wheelhouse smile

Nice performances, write, arrangement (like the stops) and production.

We enjoyed it!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
