You Make The Sunshine

You make the sunshine. Key (Em) Bpm (85)

There is no doubt about it when you walk into the room
you bring the sunshine.

This old heart you melt it when you walk into the room
I know your all mine.

Mixed with Studio One 5 Vocals myself

A youthful pop style that has a swung-sixteenths feel and features a dreamy electric guitar.
It plays a melodic background part with extra reverb, and serves as a solo in this context.
Two electric guitars offer chording support with clean guitar tones. One plays arpeggios while the other strums.
Electric bass plays a simple even-eighths pop part with accents on beats one and three. It is matched with RockModernRnB^ RealDrums.
These drums play a modern rock part in their eleventh variation, which includes ride cymbal at A and crash ride cymbal at B.
This song is in the key of A and uses a mix of major, minor, and slash chords that change every 2 to 8 beats.

Rob,
very cool and a youthful vocal too.
Your experiments are excellent...I do want to hear more of your voice and more narrative but this is really good.

Cheers

Hi Rob,

What a nice intro! Very strong, full of interesting sounds and well mixed!
The build of the song is also powerful, but there are two 'buts':
1) your song is much to short, so double it, because it is very entertaining
2) I prefer the bg vocals not to go downwards but up, because you are happy (considering the lyrics)

Drums seemed a bit much but considering the nature of your experiment, maybe they're fine. Like to hear you put it all together with a fully fleshed out song. Great work.

Sounds very modern, reminds me of U2. Interesting structure. The dreamy guitar is a very good selection. I like how you mixed the drums to give them nice concert sound. Very good experiment, I think this has huge potential and could be turned into a successful hit song.

It was a bit of a wait for the vocals (01.13) but no doubt you were using that time to allow the instruments to build atmosphere. And when the words came you used them so sparingly, perhaps to give them extra weight.
Secret Garden used slightly fewer words (30 in all) in their 1995 song Nocturne.
And there was a trend, back in the Swing era, to include a short vocal refrain somewhere in the middle of an instrumental (e.g. At Last, Glenn Miller/Ray Eberly, 1942).
All in all, a very intriguing piece.

My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile smile

Very cool song! I like the switching of sounds and processing you are using. It feels a little like what Owl City does.

A great and fun listen. Thanks!
