Wow!
Been away for a couple weeks and the place is filled with great stuff!
I'm embarrassed to post a new one without checking out all the others......I promise I'll be diving in and commenting ASAP.

In the meantime, Here's one of mine:
Got the sad inspiration from watching the local TV news:

The Band:

Organ - N A 2619 Organ, Rhythm Funk Ev 100

Wah guitar- Captain Moto ,Tele
Vocals- Captain Moto messing with octave down and auto tune

Mixed & Mastered in Studio One

Lyrics:
Young man die'n Lie'n on the street
People standing around, just to see what they can see
Who Shot Who, everybody know
Better get a gun, better get a gun, you can shoot to

Where's it go'n , I don't knows
Every day look'n like a horror show

Kids just try'n, lear'n what they can
Head out in the morning, some never come home
Shooter in the school, everybody knows

Gotta take shelter, gotta take shelter, get'n close

Where's it go'n , I don't know
Every day look'n like a horror show

Used to have a car, then it got jacked
Two kids put a gun to my back
Took all my stuff, never get it back

Never get it back never get it back

Where's it go'n , I don't know
Whole damn place , like a horror show

Drive by shoot'n
Everybody loot'n

Punch an old lady , take her purse
Kick her while she's down, just to make it worse

Where's it go'n , I don't know
This whole place , like a horror show

Can't call for help, they stole my phone
Busted in my house, I can't go home

Where's it go'n, where's it go'n
Where's it go'n, I don't know

Thanks for listening

moto

Cool! Very '70s vibe.

The vocal effects are super.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Oh Moto,

that was so damn cool.

Must admit I was wondering that noone ever seized that issue before..

From a European POV the whole gun thing looks simply incomprehensible.

Great vocal, great effects - just cool.

Take care,

Stefan

moto,

Excellent use of BIAB. And your wah guitar fits perfectly. A solid mix.

COOL vocals!! The octave stuff works great.

Best funk post ever on the forums, I think.

Loved it. Great job!

Thanks Floyd,

My song inspiration was the Local News, my arrangement was inspired by "Ball Of Confusion" by the Temptations.

CaptainMoto,
you are a master of recreating vintage vibe. Very cool and off beat stuff. One of the most interesting tracks I have heard from your offerings. Very creative arrangement and vocals. Liked it! Very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

Ha, A George Duke "Dukey Stick" type of sound. Love the vibe. I don't like to critique anyone's song so I'll say it like this :-) If I was the producer I probably would have tried to add some Funk Hors and maybe a few harmonies on the hook lines. However, I ain't the producer :-) so I'll just jam to your New Orleans Funk Sound !! Good Job. Henry

Thanks for dropping in Henry,
This thing developed kinda quickly, if I was to take a more deliberated approach, It might have been a tad better.
Thanks for the non critique. wink

That was great! It was like the lead track on a Shaft reboot. Terrific playing and singing!

Oh, Moto man, you are one of my favorite blues guys. A little blues rap this time. Missed ya, man. Very creative "double-tracking." Cool lyrics and a wonderful delivery.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanks for listening.
I can't imagine not being familiar with the Temptations, but then again, I'm an old man who grew up loving Motown Music.

Thanks Dave,
Just my feeble attempt at a mash up of Funk & Motown.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
