Please consider.
Option or by default. I wish that there would be a way to match project volume to all the previews. Because of different volume levels, which are much (!) higher in previews (of styles and individual track previews) than main project, every time I have to reach to interface volume knob... which is faster than locating volume adjuster on different preview screens. Maybe the menu is already there hidden somewhere to match preview volumes to project's volume?

Just not good for ears to have such sudden jumps.

A +1 on this.

Many of the volume levels on the demos are also quite inconsistent.

VideoTrack:
"Many of the volume levels on the demos are also quite inconsistent."

Yes! That is very true. There needs to be some kind of volume consistency all across.

I think you are onto something here, although the task of matching the previews to the 'main project' seems challenging since that depends on your choice of volumes in the mixer. So I don't know what to recommend as to how to correct this, only that it should be looked at.

Apple's Music app has a "Sound Check" feature that normalizes playback levels across all songs, but if you turn it on it actually goes through your entire library and analyzes the audio files, jiggering the metadata.

I can see why that approach might be impractical for BIAB demo content.

Of course, it seems impractical for Apple Music playback as well, but I suppose it's the best approach, if you can afford it, computationally.

I would think there would be a quick and dirty alternative available, in general. It's not like mediocre compression on a demo sample is going to affect your final project.

Yes it needs a better way. I think because it's using WMP rather than use an internal decoder/player. If it was internal it should then be at the level the master mixer volume is at.
The level setting in the dialogs seem to save when you close the reopen.
You/PG can batch normalize the wma demos:

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
