This song is my masquerade as a rock vocalist . Lyrically, it’s not much, but instead of the usual “I want you…” I did the opposite. For the BGV, I triple-tracked all three parts the old-fashioned way, recording three tracks for each voice, no digital gimmickry in order to get a warmer, richer sound.

I don’t want you I don’t want you
You push me away then you pull me in Don’t know what I can’t say I don’t know where to begin
I don’t want you I don’t want you
You cut me deep All blood in water Burning through my sleep Lead my heart to slaughter
Scott...I agree with David...this is great! I hear a little Bowie and the harmonies definitely have a British feel to them and are really well done...the lyrics seem a little obscure though...let me try to understand...there's someone you don't want? right? Yes I think you are a rock singer...well done!

You are who you are because you do what you do because of what you believe.
This is a rocking tune indeed. I have to add though that I think the electric guitars let the song down - particularly the fuzzy, fizzy one...they just don't hit as hard as the vocal. Cool song, very cool vocal performance.

Catchy composition. The Hammond organ is very nice. The vocals of the choirs stand out well. The last guitar solo seems a little too loud to me in terms of volume, but that's a detail.
Your vocal on this is excellent—as others have noted it has a David Bowie feel to it, to me at least. And the BGVs are solid as well. I also like the way you’ve panned the guitars—it gives a nice full bodied feel to the band, and I like the production touches throughout—the way you drop and then come back to certain instruments and riffs. I tend to agree with rayc that the electric guitars could pop a bit more . . . but I think that’s more a limitation of the electric guitar rhythm tracks; it’s always a challenge, at least for me, to give them an edgy sound, which is what may take this tune to another level. Regardless, excellent tune as is, carried by that great vocal. Good stuff!
Are you going to go on stage now in a black corset and pantyhose in honor of the Stooges???
Who knew!
Scott is a rock star.
Ha! I don't like to take my shirt off in public anymore. :-)

Thanks, Firesong. Obscure lyrics---funny comment!

Thanks, Ray. Not much I can do about the guitars (I think). I could record my own rhythm tracks, but I don't have the right equipment for all that (just a small amp for my Tele).

Good song, loved the arrangement and production. Drums sound awesome!
Dave, thanks for your comments and taking the time to listen.
No masquerade here Scott...You pulled it off! This is super good! Cool sounds abound in this! Not a lot of lyrics but not really needed! Thanks, Torrey
Scott, Cool and punky. I don't know how to describe it... K.Cobain got a hold of happy vitamins? Super fun arrangement. If I heard it on a radio, I would never have guessed that its a one man show. Excellent vocals and PRO mix. Those drums worked really well on this tune. Thank you for sharing.

Derochette, I have another listen at that guitar. Thanks!

Coool organ. Nice bass. Nice acoustic.
I thought the drums were a little "muffled" and could use a little high-end EQ bump.
I like it.

Thanks. Floyd. I'll see what adjustments I can make to those drums.

The lyrics are entirely appropriate for the song, and you're fun to listen to.
HOLY MOLY. nice progression. nice screams n vocs at 53secs etc in various places.. what i like bout your songs are they grab one around the scruff of ones neck and command attention.
wow grrreat voc screams at end of song. MAGNIFICENT.
Cool song. The mix is outstanding. Great vocals (lead and "ah's" part) and especially the soaring singing at the end. I think you did great with the minimal amount of words. You kept it interesting. I love the concept of using a minimal amount of tools (lyrics, chords, length, etc.). Less is best in my book.
With a voice like yours you could sing anything and make it sound perfect, Scott. I love the rhythm of that acoustic guitar starting and pacing the song. The lyrics are perfect for this song. Yeah, those harmonies sound great triple-tracked!!!

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
