Kind Music Here is my first try with Synthesizer V. I had a 10 year old song for which I originally used Vocaloids. I thought that this kind of a fast tempo electro-pop song would be a good testbed for Kevin, so I used the original Vocaloid file, imported it into Synthesizer V and did some tweaking (including translating the lyrics to English). I also changed the instrumentation to use more recent RTs. I didn't remove all breath and loudness curves from the old file so the sound is bit rough, but I liked it that way. I used Solaria for the backing vocals. It is amazing how the technology has evolved in 10 years, the singing sounds finally better than my own voice The lyrics tell about my love for pop music RealDrums: TechnoBeat^ST Loop: House-Techno-Trance-kit4beat137 RealTracks: 3787 Bass Synth, ElectroNeonFloorSync Ev 130 2930 Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm FolkRock8thsBrent Ev 100 1748 Synth, Rhythm ModernDancePopRaveMajestic 1840 SynthPad, PopModernGrooveMellow Ev16 1772 Piano Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkMovin Ev16 130 2818 Guitar Electric, Rhythm GospelSoul8ths 3642 Guitar Electric, Rhythm DublinPopSlowLowSteady Melody VSTi/Elysium Harp Vocals: Synthesizer V Kevin & Solaria Mixed in Cakewalk by BandLab Lyrics: I had an awful dream where John Coltrane improvised woke up to a singing finch guaranteed is his tune recognized. From the first notes of his melody I fell for the trustworthy trills from the triad of lasting love to the seventh of thrills. I found kind music inside me it was strumming a guitar in a clockwork rhythm four beats in a single bar. I found kind music inside me it had harmless poetry a catchy harmony a streamlined sweet melody. I sank into the noise the sand of Stockhausen's score I was lost, but heard your call your major of joy made me soar I fused into your sound embrace the stylishness in your chords your heartbeat made me feel passionate your rhymes I keenly explored. I found kind music... when Pet Shop Boys chanted It's A Sin I experienced the wildest spin when Chris De Burgh sang The Lady In Red I saw your grace, enchanted felt like a newlywed. I found kind music... ------------------ Janne

Janne, this is really unique, and you have managed to further identify the versatility that can be delivered from the program.
The vocaloid worked surprisingly well, with the percussion from the TechnoDrums holding everything together quite strongly.
An upbeat, modern, stylish delivery.

Could be a template for Dollar or Brotherhood of man. The chorus lyric works but could also be read as a little damning of pop o you could cover a larger demographic with it I suppose. Well done.

Hi Janne,
When I pressed 'play'to listen to your song, I got back to the forumpage to see if I really had a song from you. That was something different, man! And you become the second David Cunny in the forum. You have to compete who becomes the number one! Or stay friends...
It's a nice song, with almost natural sounding vocals. I enjoyed it much, but I have one 'but': I would have liked it more if the tempo was a bit slower. Now the words came in like a mach.., well skip that word. Too sensitive these days, so they come in rapidly. But I am impressed what you have achieved! Althoug I like your original vocals too. They sound so disarming. That's what we can you these days, I think
Have a nice weekend, Hans

Very good!
That artificial vocal was extremely well done - great work on that.
The backing tracks and mix are also excellent.
Super pop music
Two thumbs up
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

We've listened to the vocaloid evolution on the forum for the past 7-8 years. What you and others are doing is stunning ... especially compared to the earlier versions.
The programming of the software is far beyond our comprehension but it is easy to appreciate the amount of work that goes into it.
Of course you took it to another level with the cool lyric and mix!
Well done,
J&B

Janne,
An excellent listen.
There is a joyful liveliness to this.
Nice job with Kevin!
Good use of the under-used BIAB Techno/Dance tracks. Put together well.
And a good mix.
I enjoyed it.

Have a nice weekend, Hans Thanks Hans for your very nice comment I'm glad to surprise you, although I have done several more electro-dance oriented tracks before. I cannot compete with David C., he is the master of using the synthesized vocals, I'm just a brute force novice These kind of songs have to be fast, so that they can be danced and sweated, otherwise it would be a slow ballad for the last dance. But thanks for the thought. I'll be singing in my next song, so you'll get some disarmament Janne

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
