Just a song about having a party.
I feel like Nero playing a fiddle (he wasn't very good either). While all this sadness covers the world, I come up with a happy, goofy song. There is one thing I agreed with his playing music in the face of tragedy. It soothes the savage beast. Unfortunately the savage beast of today is resistant to harmony.
Come On Down to... Soundcloud
Come On Down to...YouTube

This song started with a riff sometime last summer. I wanted to play some Latin bass and chose the samba style. In BiaB I put chords to the riff, then picked up a guitar to play and sing along with it. The title soon came out as the first words. The vocal had to be done by a guy in a leisure suit with too much bling and too much cologne. Not even the synth vocals had that, so... I had to cover him up with party-goers. I was going to keep this one until the war was over, but...

Style is _SAMBA_P.STY (Samba w/ Acoustic Bass & Piano)

RealTracks in song: 919:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm Mambo Ev 150
RealTracks in song: 1818:Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm SonMontuno Ev 165
Loop in Song: Loops PAK 1\World\Drums, Acoustic, SambaBrazilA Ev 190.wav
Loop in Song: Loops PAK 1\Funk\Drums, Acoustic, UpbeatLatinFunkA Ev 130.wav
Loop in Song: Percussion Loops\Loop124bpm Conga 8ths 4 bars fill at end.wma
RealDrums [in style:Samba^1-a:Sticks , b:Ride Contemporary

I added a couple guitar parts, voices, and some midi stuff. The sound fx came from freesounds.org and pixabay.com. Yes, I did the vocal, although the only bling I wear is my wedding ring with one of the diamonds missing, and I never use cologne --unless it's unscented. Of course I welcome any and all comments.

Come On Down To My House

Come On Down To My House. Everyone's gonna be there.
Come On Down and bring your spouse. We'll have a party. Just bring your share.
We'll sing and dance all through the night, and celebrate the rising Sun.
Raise our hands through cool moon light. So come on. We'll have some fun.

Come on down to my house, and show us how you can party.
Come on down. We'll get you soused, and get you back laughin' hardy.
Invite your friends. Come one; come all. Stay the night, and we'll greet the day.
Life is short so let's have a ball. Say you'll come and you're on your way.

Come On Down To My House. Everyone's gonna be there.
Come On Down and bring your spouse. We'll have a party. Just bring your share.
Invite your friends. Come one; come all. Celebrate the rising Sun.
Life is short so let's have a ball. So come on. We'll have some fun.

Enjoy whatever happens!

A Nero complex , Bling & Samba.............what more could you ask for!

The entire gang sounds good.

I needed a little break from reality.

Thanks for a dose of fun.

Nice riff on the idea/vibe of the Rosemary Clooney,Ross Bagdasarian and William Saroyan song "Come on-a My House".
It's a song for the times Marty...anxiety needs relief and this vibe, rhythm and exhortation offer that.
You've kept the bass just a little low I reckon - it sounds great but, bassist bias, I'd like it just a little louder.
Your vocals work well...I'm jealous.

Ray, you always amaze me with your knowledge of music and music history. Yeah, I think I added so many tracks on top of that bass that it is pushed back. Hard to believe it was the bass that came up with this whole idea in the first place.

Even though your description above is correct there's a clever element to this write also.
Must have have been fun to put together and get recorded without too much seriousness in the lyrical arena. smile

Hi Marty,

Well you needed a party for sure!
The funny thing is I made a song that sounds very Latin and also had fun in it. Same kind of song like yours, I think.
But I decided to post another one, bit more serious. When hearing you so nice and funny song i regret that choice (a littlebit).

Man, you had fun with making this song I suppose! No, I know for sure. Especially the end of the song is telling me how much fun (and rum) you had.
Very nice and funny song, but I got the feeling the instruments sounded a bit 'covered under a blanket', unless my headphone isn't working properly.

Nice weekend,
Hans

Well produced happy tune. I am a big fan of Putumayo label (World Music). If I didn't knew it was you, I would of thought it's a tune from one of their compilations. Easy listen. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Floyd. I think ALL of the instruments (except maybe trumpet) should be louder. It took me forever mixing in and out all the non-musical stuff on 27 tracks, so my ears probalby ignored most of the important stuff. hehe. Thanks, Floyd.

FUN! We love all of your voices and the loops and RT’s really do make it a party atmosphere. We don’t even like to go to parties much but we’d love to go to this one. smile

You’ve spread a lot of joy around with this song, Marty, and it is well timed for us all!

“Life is short so let’s have a ball!” Indeed.

Well done video but had rather watch than participate smile

Thanks, Mario. That "watching the news" and "having a party" were the reasons I thought of Nero.

Hi, Hans. Never heard a song from you I didn't thoroughly enjoy --especially the ones with rum in it. You're absolutely right about the band getting lost in the party. I'd like to say it was my intention to make it more realistic, but the truth is after I got the band set in the mix I seem to have lost all contact with them while mixing the drinks.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
