Barbara's Waltz This is a country swing waltz with orchestral backup, named for a cherished member of our contradance community here in Phoenix who passed away last year.
It's funny how melodies come to us. This tune had its beginnings years ago when I was warming up on my fiddle before a dance, practicing vibrato. The "A" part melody lurked in my brain for many years before another band member helped me come up with a "B" part.
In my mind's eye, I always saw this as an orchestral piece. Last year, I plugged the chords into BIAB and discovered that the melody works quite well using country swing style _CWALTZP.
The end result here is a mixture of country and orchestral, with many variations of the main melody. With the exception of the drum track, all tracks are midi, played using virtual instruments.
