Good day all.... Finally got off my duff and finished up another one. Ken Lasaine on rhythm/lead guitars and I did a limited rhythm track during choruses and outro. Bass/Drums/Synth pad is BIAB. _TEENPOP.STY Upbeat Teen Pop w Synth[100RS] This All RealTracks style features Mellow Synth, two Clean El. Guitars, El. Bass, and TeenBeatUpTempo RealDrums. (El.Bass, SynthPad, El.Guitar, El.Guitar, Drums=TeenBeatUptempoEv16) The song title came to me a week ago so I wondered if I could come up with something on such a broad subject. Well....turns out after I finished the lyrics I realized I'm talking to my younger self! Not sure it made a difference in my life quite yet. Thanks Ken for your creativity.....and thanks to any that give it a spin. Hope you found it worthy of your time. https://soundcloud.com/chulaivet1966https://www.soundclick.com/artistAdmin/default.cfm?bandID=897733&content=musicintro: E (1-8) Verse 1 Spread your wings and take a deep breath, what you’ll become lies just up ahead. Every stumble, every sad regret is just a lesson so we won’t forget. Chorus: A wild ride on the arrow of time. (It’s the story of life) You’ll have your tales and I have mine. (It’s the story of life) Verse 2: You see the line that divides right & wrong. Choose wisely, you’ve got to be strong. Confidence must be unshaken. Just be yourself ‘cause everyone else is taken. Chorus: A wild ride on the arrow of time. (It’s the story of life) You’ll have your tales and I have mine. (It’s the story of life) Lead Break: verse music + chorus music + bridge music Verse 3: It’s all about choices, a lifetime test. You can go southeast or head northwest. So many questions and so much to know. If you’re looking for answers you turn every stone. Stay out of trouble and sly like a cat. Know when to walk away and when to push back. Chorus: A wild ride on the arrow of time. (It’s the story of life) You’ll have your tales and I have mine. Very cool tune, great lyrics.. Good mix.... Lead Vocal & Harmony are a little pitchy in a few places, but could easily be tuned up with Melodyne or some-such... The lead guitar is Excellent... very Tasteful playing.

Howdy everyone.... Andi: Thanks for giving a listen and the generous comments. Glad you felt it worthy. Brad: Thank you....I don't write preachy, lecturing songs. I almost thought I broke that protocol until I realized I was talking to a young mini-me. bloc-head: Thanks for stopping by. Regarding 'pitchy' vox?.....the 'The Story Of (my) Life'. Good thing I'm just a '4 on the floor' rock singer kinda guy. I don't have Melodyne to fix them. rayc: Thanks for checking it out. Ken's axe work always impresses me. A fortunate serendipity for me to be able to work with him. Thanks very much to all of you for listening and commenting. Have a great day.

chulaivet,
Great opening—catches the ear right away. I like the write and melody as well—very nicely done. From a mix perspective, I’d like the vocals to come forward just a tad—less so on the verses, more so in the chorus—but it’s not far off as it stands (and others may disagree, so use or lose as they say). Ken’s lead guitar SLAYS!! Really cool rockin’ number. Great collab!
All my best to you,
Deej

Good day.... Deej56 I get that a lot re: my vox..:). But, listening to it on my KRK's 8" monitors ALL the vox comes through loud/clear for these old ears. I almost thought they were too loud....you'd think I was afraid of my own voice. (sometimes I am ) Many thanks for giving it a listen and the very kind comments. Moto.... Thanks to you also for taking the time to listen and favorable comment. It was a challenge to mix. Thanks again gents....and have a great day.

Fun listen - driving rhythm and cool harmonies. Good lyrics as well - not preachy, if that was your worry.
The lead guitars are excellent.

Great life lessons in a wonderful song, Wayne. Ken's guitars are the perfect touch. Man, this stuff should be taught in first grade so graduation day would present a much improved class. "Just be yourself ‘cause everyone else is taken."

I liked the dynamics and this was especially enhanced with the vocals.
Lyrically this is cleverly composed too.
Musically, the guitar work is outstanding.
Lots to like about everything. A wild-ride, no question.

Super groove
Outstanding lead guitar
Good vocal and lyrics
Super backing band
Two thumbs up
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Well howdy Mario.... Yep....having a 'back up band' sure stream lines the writing/recording process. They're always on time, never complain and don't drink my beer. Very kind of you to give it a spin and the kind comments. It's much appreciated. Thanks very much. Have a great day everyone....

Wayne & Ken Excellent drive on this tune. One of most powerful songs I have heard by you. Ken knows his guitar Overall, great effort by both of you! One small point, which might be just my hearing / setup. While verses are clear, choruses are a bit buried in the mix to my ears. Congrats on this collab. Enjoyed it and thank you for sharing. Misha.

Well howdy Misha.... Regarding harmonies....I like to keep them just below the lead vox volume. They sound OK here and on Ken's system. I'm monitoring on a pair of KRK Rockit 8's. Individual aural perceptions are different with everyone along with how the mix translates to countless other systems. Since you did mention it I'll revisit the mix....I'm just taking a break from it for now. You know how it goes....we can listen to it so many times the aural receptors can fool us. Many thanks for taking the time to listen and the kind comments. We appreciate it. Have a great day and hope all is well.

Wayne,
I missed this one earlier. This is a great sounding track with an Allman Brothers sound to it! I love that switch to a minor in the chorus! The guitars sound fantastic! I enjoyed it!
Thanks, Torrey

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
