Lovely tune and lyrical message, Janne. A walk in the woods (or 'the bush' as we call it in Australia) is always a balm to my soul. Regards, Leon Thanks Leon for your kind comment "balm to my soul" I surely can agree with that. Janne

Janne,
Very nice intro. It's a little weird, but it's a great idea. The sound is very novel. The partial modulations that come out several times on the way are exquisite, and I think it's exactly yours. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Clever lyrics give credit to this soft and gentle ballad.
The instrumentation sits nicely in the mix, providing a steady rhythm to the composition.
A really nice delivery.

Pretty sound and vocals! The harmonies are nice, too. I agree with Misha - the mandolin is a really nice fit here. No woods around here, so your song will have to do. Thanks David for your kind feedback Glad to hear you liked the harmonies, I thought they were bit messy because there were so many different type of singers... No woods? You are missing one good source of therapy and inspiration. But if my song can be such a source then it's ok Janne

Excellent track, you have created a really nice atmosphere with the instrumentation and arrangement, Janne. Mandolin fits perfectly! Love the harmonies. And yes, a walk through nature is always good for the soul, it's one of my favorite things to do Thanks Dave for your very positive feedback Nice to hear that atmosphere worked for you. Yes, nature/walking is good for the soul and also good for your health, and I can hear its influence also in your soulful music. Janne

"This song was "inspired" by all unpleasant ways to use words for self-praise, bigotry, propaganda, hatred, falsification just to name a few. And how easy it is to forget all words and fights when walking in nature and being in direct contact with the truth." Wow, that's heavy, Janne. I love it and am an avid subscriber to your thinking. People often think I'm nuts because I communicate with trees and such. I just tell them to be quiet and listen. The trees do all the talking --it's up to us to interpret.
Man, this song perfectly illustrates in sound what you intended. Brilliant! Excellent choice of bandmates, and I actually prefer your vocal to anything Kevin would have done, but I like how you kept him on the payroll by sticking him in the choir. Just beautiful, brother.
Thanks Marty for supporting my music and thinking "trees do all the talking", that is very fascinating observation, even if you are nuts, those who are not quiet or do not listen are fool Keep on interpreting and let your music speak for nature (just like you have already done in many of your touching songs). Janne

Janne,
A good write. A great message. "Fools are wise in their own eyes" I especially like that line.
A beautiful production and a nice mix.
Good vocals and BGVs.
An excellent listen.

"the lift in nature's cathedral awakens veneration"
We live in a forest and walk our trails nearly every day. That makes it very easy to relate to your fine lyric.
Janice said that the first time she listened to this she was looking out a window and the leaves were swaying in the breeze.
The wind sound of the guitar swell and the VST worked nicely.
Kevin did a good job with the BGV's! You two worked well together.
J&B
Thanks Janice and Bud for your warm feedback It has to be very rewarding to live in a forest, I can imagine your natural life and how it is present in your music. Glad to hear you liked me and Kevin together Janne

Hello Janne,
Wonderful song you made. A very lovely 'buil-up'of the melodywhere your vocals fit like a glove (if you can say it like this). What a nice use of harmonics at 4:46 (I believe it was)! You have a very nice choise of instruments, and, like others said, especially the mandolin was a topper. But your lyrics and thoughts were even more beautiful. I liked your theme very much!
One little thing: at 1:40 it looks as if the word 'wind'is missing. And your 2 lines; "the lift in nature's cathedral awakens veneration Worthless are the vain excessive words" ... these are very, very nice, but they must have caused some problems to sing them in rhythme and time, don't they? You / I can hear a tiny bit of that challenge ;-)
But I enjoyed it a lot, as I wrote before. Hans
Oh, and we have woods and dunes nearby that I love to walk in. to empty my head...

A thoughtful write and a calm, soothing melodic backing—both make for a pretty tune. Not sure going with a vocaloid would have surpassed your execution of it vocally. I think you carry it very well. As others have noted, the mandolin is excellent in this—great choice!
All my best to you,
Deej Thanks Deej for your heartwarming words My voice was breaking when singing this, but I'm glad it didn't bother you, Synth V voices don't suffer that problem so I was tempted to use Kevin... Janne

Janne, this is excellent
Walks in the woods are very relaxing, until I run across a discarded plastic bottle or beer can tossed by some dumb @ss. Then I get mad.
Anyway excellent song, good vocal and mix
Two thumbs up Thanks Mario for your kind comment and the thumb ups People cause harm not just with words but many other ways like throwing trash in nature... maybe evolution will end up with a responsible human being, but that might take several million years Janne

Nice music Janne. And the mandolin does it!
Rob and Anne-Marie Thanks Rob and Anne-Marie for your kind words I agree, the tremolo mandolin was some kind of a sub-conscious selection and I'm glad I found one in my BIAB. Janne

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
