Strange title that may elicit a double-take. It was the words that kept coming out while I was strumming to find a melody one day. Rather than try to change them, I tried to make sense of them. Well, I surely failed there because why add the word "tonight" when "See you in the morning" says it all. So I made it like "at least for tonight" in this precarious relationship.

See You In The Morning Tonight on Soundcloud
See You In The Morning Tonight on YouTube

It's a song about waffling between breaking up and not breaking up. The verses are minor blues angsting about the relationship and thinking it should end. The choruses are a major poppy feel, hoping that it continues. The bridge is maybe more of a dream.

See You In The Morning Tonight

Every time you say there's no disaster oooo it's all you say
When we move along we're going faster oooo i wanna stay
But the feeling in my gut says we're moving in a rut. That's when I kneel down to pray.

CH: I'll see you in the morning tonight, and know till then it'll be alright.
I'm coming home before the day's first light. I'll see you in the morning tonight.

Something in your smile says we'll never make it oooo I'll grant ya that
Why in all this mess should we ever fake it? oooo So where we at?
We both know there's nothing wrong. We just fail to get along. That's when we kneel down to pray. CH

BR: You can never say goodbye when all I ever do is try is hold on to you
If you feel the need to flee then know that I will always be right here for you

3rd V:
Stepping up the pace there's no time for keeping face. So let us not erase emotion.
We cannot throw away all the fun we had just when things are gettin' bad.
Now we need to grab devotion.
Let me hear you say...

CH I'll see you in the morning tonight. Ah, you know till then it'll be alright.
I'm coming home to see the day's first light. I'll see you in the morning tonight.

Very cool song Marty... The singing is outstanding, and the vocal sound is excellent... crisp & present... great vocal harmony too.
Clever use of the band, especially the Bari Gtr... Your Bass and Dave's guitar solo were tops.
Altogether... a very fine Mix & Production.

Many things to enjoy here, musically.

And the title isn't such a puzzle. I just read I will see you tonight, and we'll still be up at dawn which I think is right. =8^)

0.36 there's a bit of clipping or harshness from the reverb perhaps...this happens a few times along the way...perhaps one of the plug-ins is being hit a bit too hard.
Small beans though as this is very good as a performance and song.
Successful bridge too - variety and a move to elsewhere! Nice.
Bass playing is sweet!

Cheers

Marty,

Cool blues groove to this—the funk wah-wah electric guitar works quite well with this. The chorus is really catchy and I think you did a good job of making sense of the “morning tonight”. Dave’s solo is outstanding. Great tune . . . I’ll be on the lookout for the album release. Excellent work on this one!

All my best,

Deej

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Very cool tune Marty. Excellent vocal and harmonies. The wah gave the song a cool vibe. Excellent solo Dave. Tone gave the solo a really cool edge to it. Basslines and backtrack were perfect. Well done.

Marty

Really nice melodic chorus.

The band is good and I like the expressive vocals.

Dave sounds great on the solo as does your bass.

Top notch work.

A clever write, nice vocal accompaniment and the backing vocals provide a fuller sound.

Good choice of style. It all fits together nicely.

Thanks, bloc-head. I seem to use that baritone a lot. Of course, Dave is the ultimate.

Haha. You got it, Mark. That's exactly the direction I tried after not getting the title out of my head, but the lyrics started getting a little risqué. wink

Marty & Dave,

This is one cool song! My new favorite of yours. Very well composed. So many mood changes, yet listens as a whole. Feels like you put a lot of effort in it. Vocals, bass mix and that crazy good solo makes a very sweet package. Really liked this one. Thank you for sharing.

Fun song! Nice grooves - and I didn't know you can rap - though (alas) only too briefly - too ;-) Dave Bell's solo is wonderful, as some have already said ... your own singing is great - I love the key and mood changes. Great writing - and your infectious enthusiasm carries through in the voice. Great job!!! :-)

Thanks, Ray. Couldn't hear it (them), but I thoroughly appreciate your careful listening on this and others. I've learned a lot just following you around here.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
