I remember a few years back watching a ballgame with my dad at my folks house, when mom came in complaining about a leaky faucet in the kitchen. Dad just rolled his eyes, and his response later became the inspiration for this song. It’s calling my name and my destiny is to sit on the couch and be lazy. Now what’s the matter honey, why can’t you see… That my get up and go just got up and went. So, on Saturday night I took out my wife to apologize and make things right. I would use that sparingly while you are not singing. The rest sounds really good. My father was in the St. Louis Cardinals farm system until he was injured at the AA level and ended his intended career. Being from St. Louis, it's almost mandatory to be a baseball fan! I agree with David that the dobro might be reserved for the non-vocal parts. Still, a catchy and fun song. Nicely done!
