Hi Folks. Sorry, my participation was sparse lately, trying to catch up. This tune started back in February. Initially, Marty and I hammered the main lyric idea, but something was missing from this blues thing. Of course, Dave Bell to the rescue! Dave performed a fantastic solo and several other guitar parts and made it whole. This tune is about wicked medicines and healing ways of the past, doctors and of course most of us - patients. With my deepest respect to doctors & nurses, this is a satire, and my hope is it is accepted as one. Thank you for listening and all comments are welcomed. Misha. Audio: Meta Sin (Soundcloud) Video: Meta Sin (Youtube) Lyrics: Bloodletting, trepanation, radium, lobotomy tapeworm diet, mercury Doctor in the house - please take off your clothes We gonna treat those cooties, psychosis, varicose We'll hunt down those pesky bacillus and microbes. Slipping on my goggles & warming anal probes Hold On! A few more stitches. Detaching from the forehead swollen leeches... Lets start the medicine Get him prepped. Fill the bill 'cause the doctor's in. Gotta make my rounds with so little time to spare There's money to be found, and I gotta get my share. Day is almost over but the zombies just don't quit Showing off their bruises, dragging sprained feet. I want to sip coladas on a sandy shore, Chilling in cabanas, fish for albacore. But here I am, lets start exam Breathe In -> Out. Lets start the meta sin. Get him prepped. Fill the bill 'cause the doctor's in. What a crazy FUN project this was, Misha. Thanks so much for the invite. What a wild video, too. In the process I really expanded my knowledge of how crazy medicine has always been. It's probably still crazy, but we get used to it. This is a very cool arrangement, and, yes, Dave always has a way of making a song better. Your sparse participation here is easily forgiven because your distraction was putting together a huge benefit in your area for the folks of Ukraine. My hat (and wig) is off to you, my friend.

That was so very cool. Excellent work from all and the video was perfect for the song. Y'all certainly look like the kind of doctor that I would get up and walk out of the waiting room..... y'all make for some creepy and crazy doctors.
Musically, this was really good work. Same with the video. It obviously took a lot of work and time. It's pretty cool seeing all the multi person collaborations that are happening in this forum here recently. That's what music is really all about.
Marty's observation about how crazy medicine has been in the past..... why would it be any different today? Sure, we've actually learned a few things and have some pretty advanced stuff going on ......but..... in 80 years..... someone will be making a song and video parodying what we think is advanced medicine, is still pretty barbaric.
I totally enjoyed this.... I was wanting to follow the lyrics but it was really hard to break away from the video since it was very captivating.

Misha and Marty, you are both mad!
...but also very funny!
When listening to this song my first thought was 'these are the first mental victims of Covid'. but then I listened again (btw; I think one verse is missing) and noticed it can only be Misha. These lyrics are tippicaly his. However, it's not by accident Marty sang along...
Seriously, it's a crazy song, but with very interesting instruments and sound effects and very funny. I haven't watched the video yet, have to do the coocking within some minutes, otherwise I'm in danger!
I often asked you, Misha, how you come to these songs? They are brilliant in their way, a good recording and mixing too, but so strange, but in a way I always like to listen to.
Looking forward to your new projects together! Hans

Misha, Marty, Mr. Bell...
Excellent in every way.
Good write. Outstanding music. Excellent arrangement and mix. Marty's Bass and Dave's guitar are as good as always. Good vocals all around.
It is always a joy to listen to your music.
Well done.

Gentlemen, Take Polaroids. 1st - the video was good fun. Pity Dave didn't don a gown and be a clown. 2nd - The song is FABULOUS - fun, covers the territory well and genre busts as always.
Well done Marty, Dave & Misha, very well done.

very unique song with very interesting special fx.
what amazes me on these forums is the wealth and breadth of talent .....and how it should be widely recognised. then i listen to song awards shows and go "same old".
this is NOT same old...but a superb effort.
well well done. kudos.

Misha, Marty and Dave this is a hoot! Love the lyrics, the band (great guitar work Dave) and production (the sound fx are terrific). This would sit nicely on the Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack. Cheers, Mike

Awesome guys! What a great collaboration. We were laughing from the get go and remembering some of the very strange medical equipment we’ve seen in hospital museums. Your vocals work well together and Dave’s guitar set the mood perfectly. Then we got to the video - it is the best ever! We felt like we were watching a lost Marx Brothers movie with Groucho and Harpo. We remembered some of those advertisements and still find it hard to believe they were taken seriously. Enjoyed the song and the video! And more kudos regarding the thought and effort that went into the audio and video production. And a shoutout to the snake oil salesman who made it all possible J&B

Hilarious- total entertainment with great contributions by all and a very well done video ( the first I`ve seen by Misha). Those not so ancient cures are darn scary and well worth an over the top sendup.

Great song and entertaining video. I liked seeing, not just hearing, my forum buds in action. Excellent and creative production too. It's too bad there's no over-the-counter opium anymore.

Misha,
What a creative intro! And what a creative song that follows! You can never go wrong with Marty and Dave's participation! Their parts really worked great in this! You didn't have to tell me that was Dave's solo because I would have known just by listening...he's got great tone in his hands! Marty continues to amaze me with his versatility! Your vocal delivery and cadence in this are fantastic! This was a great post by you Misha!
Thanks, Torrey

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
