Anybody here like screaming-guitar Rock N Roll? The recent PBS Brit Floyd concert inspired me to record this play-along. Comments on my playing welcome. BiaB was not involved but I've seen others from time to time post material here that doesn't involve BiaB. Comfortably Numb Play-AlongTechnicals: Source Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EI43n2mpTMThe chord sheet at Ultimate Guitar worked out perfect and was in the same key. Low Frequency Filtering done in Studio One using Pro EQ2 to remove the original bass. Fixed Linear Low Cut Frequency: 80Hz Q: 0.1 Gain: 0dB Filter Type: Peaking Filter Frequency: 20Hz All other settings at their default. Me on bass Recorded in Studio One Two questions for the smart people here: 1. For the technically minded, are the above filtering settings optimal for reducing/eliminating bass guitar without stepping on other instruments too much? Or is there no answer to this? . . . just filter until you like it? 2. For the legally minded. Am I violating anyone's rights by posting this play-along? I don't think so because a) Brit Floyd didn't write this song, Pink Floyd did so is it a cover of a cover? b) there are no financial transactions involved with posting this song and c) someone obviously posted the source video on YouTube.

2. Yep. In a nutshell.....It's a violation. Doesn't matter if it is a cover band and a cover of the original... Doesn't matter if you're not making any money from it. Unless you have purchased a license for the song, you're not supposed to publish it. Guaranteed that Brit Floyd paid the legal fees....so they can legally use it.... You can't use it.... legally speaking, of course.
YouTube has their own rules and agreements regarding copyright.
This is a violation of the PG showcase rules without a doubt. Rule number one.
The User Showcase is an area where users of PG Music products (e.g. Band-in-a-Box or RealBand) can post links to their original song compositions, for others to listen to.
The songs must be originals, no copyrighted or "cover" songs. You must have all of the rights to the songs.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
