Recently, I chatted with my friends about BIAB, and my friends praised BIAB as a very good music software. Then, he said that BIAB can help you make "nashville sound" infinitely I asked him, what is nashville sound? "It's country, country rock, jazz, swing, funk and Latin," he said. I searched for nashville and Elvis is there.
Friends say that if you want to make BIAB more modern, you need to drag and drop into the DAW and make some changes to the elements inside. This is the first time I've heard of "nashville sound", any friends would like to discuss it.

There are numerous country styles in 2022 and 2021 that have a Nashville sound. You will have to sort by country and click to sort by date, go to the latest you can find and work your way down. There is some cool, solid modern stuff. This video is a quick good overview of a few added "producer" styles and tracks. Thick, rich guitars. You just have to study them, learn and mix and match. It's what producers do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UblGdryHb98

re modern sound. thats daft imho. i get plenty modern sounds in bb. the KEY is combining elements of different real traks. imho you must spend the time delving into every single of the thousands of styles. thats the key imho. ie songs are loads of work imho..no way round it. old saying 'ya gotta dig deep sometimes to find treasure'.
ive got country coming out my whatevers lol.
to get the best out of bb spend a month doing the following.. 1. go thru every single style noting in a 3 ring binder with comments your favorite styles...AND... 2. go thru every single real trak in the rt picker and once again noting which ones you like with comments in binder...AND 3. repeat above for real drums and midi supertraks.
the whole shebang is a great learning experience and one i repeat every year. ie even tho i'm a rocker i STILL go thru once a year every single rt/rd..etc... that doesnt relate to the rock genre cos there are lots of golden nuggets to discover in the non rock genres. om

Modern country and Nashville country are moving targets. What is hot this week will be out of fashion in a few months.....except for 'Bro Country". Bro country never seems to go out of style..... pickup trucks, tight bluejeans, skinny dipping, cold beer on a hot night/day, bonfires, creek banks, barns, ad-nauseum......you can write about that anytime.
To get a modern country feel, there's a combination of things that are required to make it happen. You can use BB/RB tracks but..... you have to use them properly. You can't just select a style and let it rip and turn out a Nashville hit. You can however, use certain tracks..... mostly the rhythm and fillers effectively. Take the tracks into a DAW and add your live tracks. Edit the fillers and you can get some really nice stuff. In my opinion, the thing that really makes a song attractive to Nashville insiders is the lyrics. The formulaic, predictable rhymes, and cliched lines of yesterday and past decades, no longer cuts it. Lyric writing has become harder because the bar has been raised by the influx of really creative writers in the recent years.
All that said.... yeah, you can find some really nice tracks to work with. Have a listen to some of the songs in the showcase and you'll get a good idea of what others are doing when it comes to writing modern country songs.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

IMO modern country music, which I too call "Nashville", is basically rock 'n roll with a twangy accent. And like rock there are R&B, reggae, old-school country, pop, rap, and other influences.
It seems to be more about attitude than actual rhythm and chord progressions.

Notes ♫ Not even that. It seems like much of what passes for Country music these days - at least on the radio - is just brainless top 40 with a twang.

Not even that. It seems like much of what passes for Country music these days - at least on the radio - is just brainless top 40 with a twang. I suppose it all depends on perception. All music has a place, I don't necessarily have to agree what makes good Country music, or for that matter - any music. One size doesn't fit all. But I would be hesitant to go so far as to use the comments of the respondent.

There are only two kinds of music, (1) music that I like and (2) music made for someone else's ears.
I had a great, influential band director when I was in school. He never said he didn't like any piece of music or song, but would say that he didn't understand it.
There are some Nashville tunes I like, and some that I just don't understand.

I started listening to each style seriously today. Thanks for all the replies from my friends above, I learned a lot

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
