Wondering Thoughts

Just let your mind wonder while listening.

BiaB style = Question - Smooth Jazz
Tempo = 70 BPM

I deleted the bass part
Strings 1 - Kontakt - Solid State Strings
I copied the string track
Strings 2 = Kontakt - Amadeus Full Choir
Piano - Keys of the 70's - Stage Mark 73
Guitar - Kontakt - Jazz Guitar
Drums = SSD
Percussion - Kontakt - Brio Ensemble
I am playing the fretless bass and via my MIDI keyboard controller the tenor sax

FX - reverb on all but the bass guitar and kick drum
Kick drum - Waves CLA drums
Fretless bass - Amplitube 5, Presonus Pro EQ, Waves Bass Rider

This is an experiment on using my MIDI keyboard controller along with my ART X-15 pedal board. I took my ART out of storage (I haven't used it in about 20 years), bought an 5 pin MIDI to USB converter (USB was not that popular back then), grabbed the manual (thank God I keep manuals), and programmed the right expression pedal to expression (CC11), the left expression pedal to the tenor sax's vibrato (CC4). I also used the mod wheel to control the sax's growl (CC!) while playing the notes with my right hand. As I sometimes keep forgetting to move my feet I did have to do some editing. So let me know, good or bad, how you think the sax sounds. Thanx

I like it Mario, great job.
My mind didn't wonder but it wandered. It wandered to a made up James Bond 007 scene where he falls in love with the lovely lady but they both realize it would never work smile

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Mario,

I have never been a fan of instrumentals, for the most part. . . but I always enjoy clicking on what you have to offer because I know I’ll hear something engaging . . . and this is no exception. Cool and soulful, slick mix . . . Well done!

Hope all is well in your world,

Deej

Mario...I was going to write something...but my mind wondered off...I'm finding that's become very easy for me to do...this is a cool piece and is very relaxing and meandering (in a good way)...I think I would have liked the sax more dominant in spots...other than that............I missed my train I guess? What were we talking about?

Mario, I like this one a lot, it has a wonderful mood.
Funnily enough what makes this song work for me are the parts which are NOT created via BIAB, the saxophone and the nice bass-motives :-)

Beautiful, but melancholic track!

Sounds like you are getting along very well without the wind controller ;-).

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
