Hi All, Here's another one of those "in the draw" songs that I have revisited over the years for lyric changes, etc. Happy to have finally and properly recorded it. This is called Blue Moon You. A mysterious light Cut a hole in the night Fell while you counted sheep I could tell by the skies It was the moon in your eyes You were fast asleep There was no sound of the rain I wasn’t going insane It was the drumming of my heart It was a brilliant display Before the sun came our way And hung in the sky like art I know I can’t keep the night from fading Or hold on to the light we knew But I can dream beside you now Blue moon you Then a purposeful sun Let the night be done The sky was summer blue I walked a million miles Turned a million dials Just to hear the morning news There were no hurricanes On my caffeine brain It was one more day in our life It was an early reminder I needed to find her Singing by the radio light I know I can’t keep the night from fading Or hold on to the light we knew But I can dream beside you now Blue moon you The mysterious light Makes its way every night Covers you from the sky I could tell by the dawn It was a snowy morn But the years they roll on by I know I can’t keep the night from fading Or hold on to the light we knew But I can dream beside you now Blue moon you BIAB Tracks: 2474: Bass, Acoustic, Held Ev 085 1765: Guitar, High-Strung Acoustic, Fingerpicking Ev16 085 1856: Cello, Background PopCountry Ev 085 378: Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming DoubleTime Ev 088 796: Guitar, Electric, Rhythm, ModernCountrySync Ev 100 RealDrums: NashTrainEv16 Blastix 16th Loop: House-Techno-Trance/House 120 Drums Thanks for listening! Bob,
I can say without reservation that this is my favorite song from you! I love the flow of this song, it's kind of got an America sound. Great vocal and background vox!
Thanks, Torrey

Yeah, like Torrey said. I really like the lyrics. So well written at such a high level of expertise. Excellent metaphor. And the vocals are also so well done. Good use of BiaB, and a professional mix. Strong from start to finish, Bob.

Very nice song. I really liked the writing and the words stand out in the mix. I also liked the fade out. Could be just my ears, but I thought the overall sound could use a little more bottom end.

Great vocals and lyrics.
The perfect backing band.
Super mix.

Definitely your best one so far! An instant classic I would say.
I also detect a The Byrds sound. That's good :-).
Very nice artwork, by the way.

We also got the Byrds feel on this song. . . Yeah, channeling Roger vocally and with the jangly guitar - a good thing!
Great mix and art work as always.
You’re such a good poet, Bob, and this phrase has stuck in Janice’s mind since she first listened.
“There were no hurricanes On my caffeine brain It was one more day in our life”
Enjoyed it!

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!
Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review
Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!
"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
