Almost everyone around here uses Soundcloud, so I've created an account there and have uploaded 2 songs.
What makes me curious: only a couple of minutes after the uploads some people with absolutely no content on their pages have "reposted" my songs.
I figured out that some of them work for businesses which create clicks and likes and whatnot, but others look like "normal" users, just with no content and tons of "reposted" songs.
What is this all about? Why do people do this? I didn't pay anyone for anything....

There must be some monetary value if you enough songs in your list or enough followers (or some such thing).
I always like how they "like" your song or make a comment without ANY plays being shown.
They are, obviously, MAGICAL people.

There are things of this nature and worse that happen on Soundcloud. I have had a pro account for a very long time which does not help to prevent people from "liking my songs" and posting rude comments.
Other than some rude requests which I just delete, I am not bothered much by all the junk that comes along. In general, nothing to worry about.

It's the internet.... if there's an angle, money to be made, or fame to be achieved.... someone will be doing it.
Someone with way more free time than me.
Be aware of the scammers that will use your song and your pride to try to scam money out of you..... had a few folks like that try it unsuccessfully throughout the years. If it's too good to be true, you can be sure it is a scam. As hard as it is to get reputable companies to even have a look and listen to my songs.... when someone comes in gushing about how great the song is and yadda yadda..... yep they are trying to scam me. No thanks.... go bother someone else.

Thanks Floyd, Billy, Guitarhacker and Bass Thumber for the background information and advice. I guess I'll just ignore those things...it's kinda funny to have a newly uploaded song with 2 likes, 2 shares and just one play

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
