Hi Scott C,
Very dark composition. The lyrics are surprising. The musical ensemble is well done. I always love your guitar solos.
Kindly regard Derochette alias JaniJackFlash

Bass Thumper : Thanks for your listen!
Leon: I appreciate your thumbs up on the vocals; its fun to amp up the intensity for some of these Sprit Level songs.
Marty: Oh you mean that choir coming from down in the well-glad you heard that! Your comments are always such a support- my writing does go to some strange places but we know Marty listens with open mind and heart. Thank you so much!
Janne: Glad you liked this. We are all digging up inspiration from writers and musicians, many of whom have passed... not so scary is it? The gospel break was fun to do- I`m happy you enjoyed it.
Dave: Thank you for those positive comments!
Ed: Honestly I find William Blake a mixed bag- in small doses mind bogglingly ecstatic and out there for his time... often quite preachy though. Thanks for your listen.
Robert

“gather light that floats on motes of dust in the sun resolve to endure what you`ve done and can`t be undone”
Those lines were two of Janice’s favorites from this excellent and vivid lyric.
It has a kind of ominous feel and yet an uplifting feel at the same time. The arrangement is cool and the handclaps were a good addition.
As others noted Scott’s tasteful guitar accompaniment to your mysterious edged vocal is great.
Enjoyed it!

For some reason this came across to me as a speeded up, amped up version of Tom Waits' Burma Shave. Loved the energy in this tune, all the elements crackle. Loved the hand claps. RKC, you're a poet without a doubt. Always a pleasure to follow along with your lyrics as I'm listening. I'm a fan of Spirit Level.

Scott & Robert, I 've heard this at the time of release, but wanted to give a second spin before replying. Edgy and slightly aggressive, which I like. Fantastic set of lyrics and one of the best vocals from Robert. Scott, very nice lead. Raw power. There are a couple of S.Level tunes that I like a bit more, but this is definitely one of the upper tier tunes. Good mix, no complaints. Very different. Liked it and thank you for sharing. Misha.

Scott & Robert
Nice prog rock sound, excellent production, and nice obscure but evocative lyrics.
Vocal was excellent as was the guitar playing.
Enjoyed the song.

I always enjoy the Spirit Level collabs. This is a master class in lyric writing. There is a bit of quirkiness to this this song, which, of course, I enjoy. Oh that guitar solo---sounds so good! Fabulous production.

Robert & Scott,
This is SO good.
I like when Spirit Level turns up the Rock side. You both really shine when you do that. Robert's lyrics (outstanding here) and vocal suit the style (alt Rock) perfectly. Scott's guitar (nice!) always seems most inspired when backing this style. I am a fan.
Terrific backing BAND and mix.
Cool Stuff.

Derochette: Thanks for your listen and comments.
J&B: Nice to know you heard the upside in the lyrics. Many thanks for your always supportive comments!
Tunemonger: Thank you for that;I especially appreciate your comment on the energy level. I don`t know that Tom Waits song- will have a listen.
Misha: Your approval of the vocal is good to hear- I really have to find a cranked "zone" for these rock tunes, sandwiched as they often are, with gentler songs.
Peter: Nice comments- thanks very much!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
