Just a standard 12 bar blues. Marty sang the vocals for me, I am so grateful and he is such an asset here on the forum. I played a harp solo, but I kept it simple to serve the song.

420:Bass, Electric, Blues Sw 120
2624:Guitar, Baritone Electric, Rhythm BluesShuffleBassAndLicks Sw 085
RealDrums [in style:BluesRockShuffle^1-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Snare, Open HiHat

Lyrics:

I've tried and tried, through all of my life,
To make my mark for the kids and my wife,
But nothing's ever, nothing's ever come through,
All my work's been stamped with the B-side,
The B-Side Blues

Thought if I worked hard, made the right moves,
I would be happy and I'd never lose,
But it's all on the B-side, ohh like yesterday's news
Looking back, my life's been nothing but the B-side blues

Yeah I've had my chances, life gives you a tease
Each time the dream got shattered, I went to my knees
And it's all on the B-side, that's where I've paid my dues
Oh, I'll sing you a song of woe called the B-side blues

TuneMonger,

Now that’s some raw, right to the bone blues. Like the mix and overall feel of this one. Marty does a great job on the vocal. Well done, boys! Very nice collaboration . . . and, boy, I love that harmonica solo!

All my best to you both,

Deej

The pared-back, basic instrumentation underscores the raw emotion of the very ably sung lyric. Great job, guys.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

T.Monger & Marty
Ace collaboration. Deep instrumentals. Marty is has perfect vocals for this tune. Fun harp solo! Has a neat "live" feel mix. Liked it, and thank you for sharing.

Bob...you sure can't go wrong with Marty's vox...love the title...perfect for a good blues number....really super solo on the harp...sometimes the best tune was on the B-side and this is a good one no matter what side it winds up on...really enjoyed...great job all round!

Thanks so much for the experience< Bob. Man, I still say the version you sent me with your vocal is the one to go with. WOW, one thing I MUST mention is your harmonica playing. Really really good stuff. I mean not only the solo in this one which is so good. Every note with excellent timing and touch. I loved the way you bring the notes in, bend them, then wave them goodbye. The first time I heard this song on your SoundClick channel I stayed for all of the rest. Man, that's where you blow some really really cool stuff. Reminds of many hours listening to Toots Thielemans.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Man I liked this one - all the way through. I thought it was a clever write. Marty did a great job on the vocals, good choice, as if you'd written it especially for him. Great harmonica playing. It added a lot without over-doing it like I've heard some do. This was a very entertaining song!

You two knocked my socks off with these blues. Hard hitting raw blues like they should be played.

Super singing

Man you can play that harp.

Loved it.

TuneMonger,

It's a very nice blues song.
Marty's vocals fit the song so well.
Great.
Your harp is also very nice.
I'm a little envious of being able to collaborate on the blues so quickly.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
