Another brother song;a little folkier this time.

Find Me

RT 683 Bass
Drums Congas Ev8
RT 2762 Piano
RT 405 Ac Gtr Strumming
RT 1814 Ac Gtr
RT 3770 Tin Whistle

Find Me

kids are kites in the wind
we cut the strings trying to reach home
sail above clouds sink under the sea
hang on to your ticket to roam

those days were so beautiful
for the boys of mess and majesty
if I ever lost sight of you
close my eyes count to fifty

do you ache ache for the way we used to be
awake asleep endless endlessly
under covers in the trees
little brother do you see
where the time goes
find me

you tumbled off my map
in my memory you landed headfirst
I`m falling to you like gravity
to find someone must you lose them first

you know I never tried to hide
anywhere but in your eyes would you believe
now there`s nothing in all my treasures
more worn out than me

I ache ache for the way we used to be
awake asleep endless endlessly
under covers in the trees
little brother do you see
where the time goes
find me

I sit in front of our movie screen
dressed up for a journey

do you ache ache for the way we used to be
awake asleep endless endlessly
under covers in the trees
little brother do you see
where the time goes
find me

Robert,

Very nice melodic tune. I love the instruments you used and I really like the mix. Great use of the background vocals. A thought provoking song and very easy listening.

WOW. What to say? Speechless.

Your voice sounds better than ever, somehow - and your interpretation and tone are so warm, it's so hard not to cry.

"you know I never tried to hide
anywhere but in your eyes would you believe
now there`s nothing in all my treasures
more worn out than me"

No words. Just wow ... and thank you for sharing.

Love the congas, tin whistle and BGVs, but always it's the lyrics that shine through. If I were to quote one line, I'd end up quoting all of them. Great poetry. Hope your brother gets to hear these gems. Excellent work!

Nice childhood story, vivid images full of nostalgia, like a photobook. Good vocals, enjoyed especially the lush harmonies. Melodically interesting, not so straightforward, but that's why this song is such a treasure.
Great arrangement, congas work nicely, and the tin whistle is really one of the best RTs PG Music has given to us.

Thanks Brad,
I`ve worked on the harmonies over the past few years and find that`s improved my singing generally.
I appreciate your listen and comments.

Robert,

This is another great folk/rock sounding song! I love your lyrics! The chorus really has a beautiful flow and melody! That tin whistle really sounds great in here...I've never been able to utilize that instrument effectively in any of my stuff, but you made it sound right in this! Love the vocals and bgv! Enjoyed this!

Thanks, Torrey

This is another really rich sibling song that conjures up lots of childhood memories for both of us.

Your vocals sound great and the band suits the lyric so well.

The congas, piano and tin whistle “dance” very well together for the imagery.

We hope your brother hears this one!

Your lyrics are good as I expect they would be. The lyrics to the chorus really stand out for me: clever and poignant. And your melody is slightly unusual and extremely satisfying.

Torrey,
I appreciate those positive comments. I think you have to give the tin whistle a few regens to mix and match phrasing- glad you like it here.

Starting out songwriting I was probably expecting more family interest... now I`m content to hoe my row alongside the kindred spirits here!

Hi Robert,

This is a very touching song. Your vocals work so nice in it.
Many emotions were released in me when listening to your beautiful song and lyrics.
You are the master on these kind of songs, Robert. At least to me.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
