I would like to suggest modern progressive rock styles sometimes referred to as Math Rock. Polyphia is an example of cutting-edge technical musicianship in a genre expanding style. Although these styles typically use guitars and traditional drums they are augmented with contemporary backings and sometimes hip-hop elements. These would also lend themselves to midi allowing a much larger sound palette than is typical of most PG Music Realtracks which limit the user to mostly traditional instruments. Math rock, emo, emo revival. Open tunings. Capos.
Bottom line: more interesting modern / alternative styles. Every time PG Music announces "more alternative styles" in the update videos, I listen, and it's like... ok, a pop/rock style from the first interation of BIAB RealTracks (I'm guessing 2009) with the same 2009 pop/rock/Nashville Radio sound.... nothing close to the sound of "indie" or "alternative". There's a certain sound / vibe with this, and I feel the mark is constantly missed.
