Hi:
For many reasons I had to reboot PT and it comes always with a default where have to put again all settings , drivers , real tracks , and so on. Instead I did a template and would like and in case a reboot, it will restart from there , to avoid all that setups. I didn't find the way to get it done.

Lobster.
try this. 1..in ptw enter all your settings you need. (no recorded midi or audio traks.) 2..save as LOBSETTINGS.SEQ. PLUS MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A NOTE eg IN WIN NOTEPAD or taking a picture and/or noting in a binder your ideal settings.
each time you start a new song eg lets call a song "lobster rocks".
1..open in ptw LOBSETTINGS.SEQ 2..save as LOBROCKS.SEQ. and record your midi and audio tracks and save to the LOBROCKS.SEQ.
if you , like me, write songs in many different genres , in ptw you could have a template for each and each template have different settings.
eg… COUNTRYTEMPLATE.SEQ ROCKTEMPLATE.SEQ JAZZTEMPLATE.SEQ etc etc
OR if templates reflected different set ups eg… you want one template to have 20 midi traks and 15 audio traks just do your ptw settings/trak set up and save as .. TEMPLATEM20A15.SEQ type of idea.
in summary you could have many different templates if you wished reflecting the different sets of settings you want in ptw.

This is an interesting question and I'm wondering about OM's suggestion.
If I follow OM's method, will PT remember what audio driver I want to use, what MIDI input and output drivers I want, will it remember to make my default tracks MIDI, will it remember where my temp file is, will it remember what type of time stretch I want to use, will it remember to have PT start up in the last song I had open?
If it does all of this, this is the solution I been long looking for!

Hi:justanoldmuso Thanks for your answer, seems to be a good solution, I will get it a try, otherwise will get back if isn't. Otherwise, will start writing that song

Jeff.
re your specific template setting needs and template creation.
i have a new mini pc that i'm v happy so far running reaps/rb/biab, and everything is set up perfect FOR ME…and i dont wanna muck around with settings as its running like a champ.
as you have needs different from moi i would try your own template experiments and see how far you can take the 'make and save template SEQ idea' with your specific needs and/or ask pg support. cos i dont know the internal workings of rb or ptw obviously.
in summary run your own template creation tests mate. eg lets say you want to use 3 different settings template configs.. you could name em' CONFIG01.SEQ,CONFIG02.SEQ, and CONFIG03.SEQ.

FWIW, if you save a SEQ file with the name $options.seq I think it will default to those settings when loading up. (name and spelling is important)
At least it used to...

Rharv, can I also setup a separate $options.seq in RB to save my RB settings?

This is supposed to work for both programs. RB is pretty much PT with more generating options. Same core program .. in my experience yes, as long as the separate $options.seq files are in their respective root folders (where the program launches from).

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
