Start At The Stars on Soundclound Start At The Stars on YouTube This Thursday is Thanksgiving Day in the US. Here's a song to say thanks to the folks at PGMusic, without whom none of this fun stuff would happen, and to all of you helpful folks on this forum who make it even more fun by sharing what you create. Okay, I'm singing this song to the choir. It's about creating for yourself, without regard to what others may want, doing it because... well, you can't help it. It's part of who you are. Thanks, and carry on. Dave Bell of Blue Attitude played some perfect guitar tracks, and I played bass and sang. Start At The Stars You can go so far starting at the stars and raising the bar to new heights. And everybody knows the leader has no clothes, and moguls steal all the rights. Create with inner magic, ignoring all the tragic folks who've lost the love of being strange, and you'll be always smiling, appearing so beguiling to those whose values always change. REF: Start at the stars and show them who you are. You can go so far when you start at the stars. Keep in mind there's nothing ever more than something you create inside your soul. Cater to creation forget their expectation and listen to the drive that makes you whole. You may not be famous, but fame is really aimless, and life is what matters most of all. Inside you Truth is shining, and Love is what's defining you. Life is answering the call. REF All the moguls'r' chasing after money, making music "you should hear," while you're unrelating, happily creating magic music to your ears. SOLO - Repeat end of 2nd V REF: Start at the stars and show them who you are. You can go so far. Just start at the stars. END: To show them who you are, start at the stars.

Marty, Cool, a YouTube song about doing the opposite of so many YouTubers!I like the jamming feel with Dave`s just-right fills and above all; who can argue with the affirmation in those lyrics... a very enjoyable rocking reminder to us all. Well done.

I like your song and of course can identify all too well with the lyrics. I guess most, if not all, forum members here feel the same way. By the way, I think your singing gets better with each song. Kick-*ss harmonies! You are like wine, I think

Terrific job with all that rhyming, and a fantastic message! The tune itself was a real toe-tapper. As others have written, just about everybody on the Showcase Forum can relate to this message. I know I certainly can. Starting things off with Dave's guitar was the way to go. Really good tune that stayed in my head. Great work, Marty!

Marty, That's a good one. Very well sung and Dave's guitar work is excellent . Great tone. I was getting a 60's English vibe from this and odd as it sounds the melody reminded me of Mama Cass. Cool lyrics and I engaged all the way. Bravo, Tom

Marty. It's a lively piece. Well performed with a good lyric. For me, the bass sounds a little boomy. Maybe a hi eq filter needed or maybe my ears need washing out.

Another twist from the optimist. Terrific band, baked to perfection and iced with ace guitar. Your vocals are even more mellifluous with each new recording. Loved it.

Robert Thanks, Robert. YouTubers, right?!? It's amazing how much money they make doing the stupidest things. I guess that says a lot about our descension into Idiocracy. I like your song and of course can identify all too well with the lyrics. I guess most, if not all, forum members here feel the same way. By the way, I think your singing gets better with each song. Kick-*ss harmonies! You are like wine, I think Thanks, BD. Yes, I like wine --preferably a cab from Napa. Hey, there's a song title, A Cab From Napa. Terrific job with all that rhyming, and a fantastic message! The tune itself was a real toe-tapper. As others have written, just about everybody on the Showcase Forum can relate to this message. Superb in every way. What lovely, refreshing lyrics! Good advice for us all! BEAUTIFUL video ... GREAT guitar playing from Dave Bell ... and, of course, a generous dollop of good cheer from yourself, both voice and bass :-) . And yes, thanks PG Music! A great song, nailed by everyone involved. Inspires me to keep writing - and that's just about the highest compliment I know how to give :-)

Cool lyrics and I engaged all the way. Bravo, Tom Thanks, Tom. Yeah, I probably can't shake that 60s thing. Although I survived the invasion, I think I've played every Beatle song ever written. But Mama Cass? Yeah, I hear what you're saying. Sounds like a melody she'd sing. Marty, A great message! It should always be "for yourself" first. And a Big Hit once the world hears it Well sung. An infectious melody. Good Bass (of course). Dave shines - as always. Excellent mix. Stuck in my head now... fj Thanks, Floyd. I used to pitch songs in the 90s, and realized too many producers owed too many favors to too many others to even consider my songs. Then realized I wasn't really doing it for them. I'm doing it because I can't help it. Glad you like the melody. If it's stuck in your head, it's bound to improve. WOW, you two stars hit this one out of the ballpark

Haha, Mario. Start at the stars, right? Everyone on this forum is a star --a beacon to show the way. So glad you like it, and thanks for all your inspiration. As floyd jane said, great message, excellent guitar. And a good, catchy song to boot! Thanks, David. Yeah, this message is one we in this forum all know so well. The meaning of life is to create.

Hi Marty and Dave
You are a very busy man!!! On how many projects are you working each day? But the results are delicious to listen at.
And your songs are mostly so positive. Your lyrics and singing in this very attractive song are no exception to this. I agree with B.D. thomas your singing gets better every time (a little bit more each time, because they were already very nice, but still...).
Dave also did (again) a very good job on the lead guitar. One can only enjoy what he's doing, so nice to listen to. I think his guitar play is lifting every song (if needed).
Take a break for some hours, Hans

Marty and Dave,
A great message song! Dave's guitar phrases really liven up the song. Your vocals are great too. A variant of the blues progression is totally appropriate for this song. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Vic Thanks, Vic. Yeah, I think the bass is probably a little too loud now that you mention it. That boominess would go away if the bass sat better in the mix. When I'm mixing I always have to remind myself I'm not mixing a bass-players album. haha. I know I am, but it shouldn't sound that way. Thanks for that. Another twist from the optimist. Terrific band, baked to perfection and iced with ace guitar. Your vocals are even more mellifluous with each new recording. Loved it. Ah, The Twisted Optimist --great title, Ray. Dude, I love your comments. Keep up the good word, man. Awesome tune Marty. Very cool vocal and lyric. Excellent guitar work from Dave. Loved the video. Well done.. Man, Scott, you are the best. You promote my songs here, on YT, Soundcloud and FB. Thanks so much, brother. Keep creating. Inspires me to keep writing - and that's just about the highest compliment I know how to give :-) Thanks, James. No one here needs this kind of advice, but there are so many others out there that waste so much time trying to please an imaginary audience that they miss the fun of letting Creativity take control. That's why the best music I hear is right here. Yes, it is the highest compliment you give, but you obviously don't need any nudge for inspiration. You're creative cup is runnithing over.

Lovely message, as a songwriter very easy to cherish and relate to. Let your own star shine "I'm doing it because I can't help it" & "The meaning of life is to create.", glad you put those ideas into a great song! And without possibility to create, there would be no life. And BIAB makes it easy for us to be real stars. Nice and positive catchy melody, the positivity is also beautifully reflected in the video. You have found great colorful clips for it. "your singing gets better with each song" I agree with B.D.Thomas. Sounds like Dave was born just to play his guitar in this song, great work! BTW. you manage to release a "Star" song just before me Janne

Oh yeah! Delightful lyric.
Marty, your lead and tight harmonies are very good and we feel like we’re sitting in the same room as you. That bass man is really nailing it all down!
Dave’s solo, in addition to his intro and fills, is excellent.
We couldn’t agree more with you on the pure joy and creativity (and friendships) that PG Music has provided.
And as always your vid nails the sentiment of the tune.
Keep ‘em coming!

I like the melody. A bit bouncy!
Dave continues to add guitar bits that mold into the song. Thanks, Scott. As a strong voice in the choir, you surely know it by heart and soul. Man, you're right about Dave. He really knows how to interpret a song --any style. I love it! I think you wrote the one all of us would have liked to have written here. Very fun song, bouncy beat and so well recorded ... And great way to throw out a great big thank you to the folks at PG Music. You and Dave did it again! Thank you, Brad. In my mind you all HAVE written the song, and all royalties will be split. I'm good with zero divided by zero. [Interesting fact: this so-called western world didn't use a zero until the 13th century. Fibonacci learned it from someone from India while they were both visiting Africa. That won't be on the test.] Great tune! I'm with you all around. Great vocals and production.
Cheers

As far as my vocals improving... well, for the first time in my life I'm practicing before pushing record. Until visiting here, I only used BiaB to make demos for others to sing. https://soundcloud.com/user-646279677BiaB 2024 Windows For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Marty (and Dave)
I am so in agreement with your comments in the description! We gotta keep on keepin on with our music! I love everything about the tune! Your bass playing is fantastic, and Dave never lets the listener down with his playing, it always sounds great! Nice job with the vocals (and background vox). I always enjoy your tunes!
Thanks, T

Marty & Dave,
Sorry I am late for the party. Fun & optimistic tune with incredible drive! Amazing composition, vocal and instrumental performance! Very creative stuff. After watching, I want to do some of that clay turning! You definitely should try to put out your tunes to wider audience. Liked it very much, and thank you for sharing.
Misha.

Misha. Hi, Misha. Miss ya. The party can't start without you. I believe this whole forum should have a wider audience. The stuff on here is often so much better than what they are fed by the industry.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
