This is a pretty standard 12 Bar Blues. It was my first attempt at arranging horns so it is pretty simple using horn loops. Excuse the lengthy guitar solos. I got carried away since I haven’t had my Tele in 6 months as I only took an acoustic on my camping trip out west. As I’ve said before, for me it all starts and ends with the blues…

Really Into The Blues

I asked her out to a tribute for BB King

She said I don’t know he’s just not my thing

It’s such a shame I spent all my money

I’m telling you man she was one fine honey

She left me standing there all alone

After she shut me down I just headed home

Two weeks later when I wasn’t so down

I told her Joe Bonnamassa’s coming to town

I got two weeks pay coming my way

So mark it on your calendar and save the date

She said first you try sell me on BB King

Well I’m sorry but Joe B’s just not my thing

I heard it in the neighborhood she changed her ways

But if I keep on chasing her I’m gonna need a raise

she fooled me once she fooled me twice

I was never good at following my own advice

I heard she likes a guitar man and now I’m confused

They say the word is now she’s really into the blues

Yeah, now that's how it's done!!

Smokin' hot Tom, just the right amount of guitar playing for me wink

Excellent playing, and fun lyrics. Horns sounded right to me.

Right up my alley, huge smile on my face here!

Hi Tom,

Yeah this right up my alley also - terrific blues!

I particularly liked your lead guitar work - smokin'

One comment re the Brass - you have a stab on beat 1 of bar 1 and that is cool. However typically you play/sing on bars 1 & 2 and the Brass replies on bars 3 & 4 and so on throughout each verse. This is particularly the case when playing lead guitar. Easy to change in your DAW if required.

Mix - I liked the upfront lead guitar and upfront vocals - this is how Blues are mixed.

Great work - look forward to the next one.

Best Regards
Nigel

BAM! Staright out of the traps.
Enjoyable rock n blues and I rather glad you didn't bow to convention.

This is classic my friend. About as real as it gets.

Yeah, what a great band, and a great blues song, Tom. You sound like you belong on Alligator Records. Man, you mention so much good music in the lyrics, and your voice is just perfect for the genre. Those horns are awesome. Loops?!? Damn, that guitar sings sweet sounds in your hands. Way to tell your tele you missed her, and she says the feeling is mutual. Listened both on SoundCloud and your website to see which sound if any was better. Sorry, I got waaay too lost in the goodness to tell. I once formed a band called Blues' Branches because every song stems from The Blues.

Enjoy whatever happens!

BB and Joe B... what's not to love about that?

Starts off full tilt right out of the gate and stays there.

Tommy, I love the blues and this is some kick @ss blues

Outstanding vocal and axe work mixed like they should be for a blues song

You lead was just the right length

Your addition of BB's horn section was brilliant

You belong on Alligator records

Loved it

Tom

Some excellent blues, loved the overall vibe and the guitar playing throughout was hot and excellent.

The horns sound good and add a nice bit of spice.

The vocals are as usual top notch.

This is great blues with great and fun lyrics.
And just the tempo I love most for a blues.

Don't worry about the solos, they're just part of a good blues.
And, this is a pretty good solo you delivered here.
Me likes a lot smile

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
