David Snyder - thanks for the nice words....

B.D.Thomas - Thanks. I can't say I agree with the idea that the lyric and melody don't "fit". But, that doesn't negate the fact that you do. And that's fine. I don't think that had anything to do with the song losing its spot. VERY few songs made it as far as this one did and they would have listened to 1000's of songs to get to the the final selection (and, as David noted, this was pretty much "the sound" of 90's Country).
Thanks for listening - and for commenting...

NigelSpiers - thanks for having a listen....

Hi floyd jane,

I really enjoyed this song. Very romantic with a perfect orchestration. The piano really plays in symbiosis with you. It's perfect. Well done.

Sounds great Floyd, love the nice and bright piano as well.

You're taking a bit of a risk with the high-pitched vocal here and there, but it works out really well.

Hi Floyd,

Man, so close! I enjoy reading these stories about your musical journey.

Love the piano part, excellent playing, and interesting to read how you built the rest of the track.

Vocal of course is top notch.

Excellent song, enjoyed the listen.

Floyd,
A beautiful write- original enough to make the universal feelings expressed worthy of close listening to the story... with very visual images nicely expressed.
Its an excellent vocal too- love your voice in the upper register on a song that has some ache!
Fine, fine music in any era.

Robert

Hi Floyd,

The feedback on your song so far has been overwhelmingly positive and insightful. I don't believe that there is anything I can add that has not been said already.

Great song. Well done.

Floyd...this is gorgeous both lyrically and melodically...the melody is so pretty and the sentiment of the song causes anyone with a heart and a memory of young love (and mature love for that matter) to feel it's touch...today's my daughter's (Amber)birthday and this song made me reminisce about dancing with her at her wedding...very tender and touching...so well done!

I can see why they held the song and eventually recorded it, but I don't understand why they didn't release it.

I love this song. The lyrics spoke to my heart. Marvelous write.

Floyd,

Beautiful song all the way! The fact that this was held by the Walker people for a while shows that this has great potential and still may see an opening for it down the road somewhere! Your vocal performance on this is one of your best!

You are an inspiration to whole BIAB community!

Thanks, T

tommyad - Tom - Thanks for the nice comments. Pretty cool that you opened for Jeff (he passed away this year). Re: the Astaire reference - I did have one publisher suggest that "the kids today may not get the reference..." but, the long holds would suggest that those camps weren't concerned about that...who knows. I always wondered if the song had too much range (it has gotten hard for me to handle that range myself...)

BabuMusic - Marty - Thanks! I did have a few folks suggesting that I should be working towards the singing end, but I had decided by then that songwriting was the better choice (old guys can do that). smile

Janice said, “can we quote the entire lyric as our favorite lines?!”

What a beautiful song, floyd.

It’s a real tour de force with all of your performances here.
Just the soulful vocal and piano performances alone are standout!

Reading the backstory got us wondering just how many gems like this song there are that the public is missing.

Bud said, “sadly, a lot.”

Wonderful! Happy Holidays!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
