Marty,
Absolutely superb! Terrific band and production. Dave’s playing slays as usual. But what I really like is your vocal . . . just oozes warmth and sincerity. Great work on the video as well. And love that little laugh after “or three” and that “show it to me” refrain at the end. Really nice touches on this throughout. Excellent!
All my best,
Deej

Yep, when Marty and Dave get together there is magic! Another super song from a super duo. I agree with everything that has been said.

Dave Bell of Blue Attitude added a couple guitar tracks, but didn't like either of them, so I used both.
Made me laugh when I read that I had actually forgotten about this one. Turned out pretty good! I know what you mean about forgetting them, Dave. It's like writing the next page of a book, then throwing it on floor with the others. It's an addiction to creativity. Creative Addiction would be the title of the book. Very cool song, Marty!
You are always such a positive man; in your comments, in your lyrics and in your emails. Probably in many more cases, but these are the ones I personally know of
A wonderful rhythm, nice chord progression and very good vocals! And I also love the BG-vocals. Very nice. You are getting close to the Gibb brothers... You see, I can come cloe in behaving positive. In this case not a problem at all, because I mean it all. Still, you win on that front!
But it's a revelation you disliked two guitar tracks from Dave (mind you!). As I can read in his reply he wasn't even shocked. He laughed...!
Hans
Ah, my good man, Hans, thanks so much for your heart-warming comment, but you misread the part about Dave's guitar. If I didn't like them, he would be totally fine with me not using them, like I did with the drums in this one. He was the one who said he didn't like either of them. 'I surrender to your charms.' 'show me the magic'..
above great lyrics ...just two of many.
your a poet ! nice changes.
vocs starting at 2//12 love em' before lead comes in.
superb ending.
best
om Thanks for the wonderful comment, OM. Glad you enjoyed it. Marty, I enjoyed the well written lyrics which your vocal delivered perfectly. Dave’s guitar parts were just right for the song. Nicely produced. I liked it , Tom Thank you, Tom. Much appreciated.

Lovely love song with a very catchy chorus. And pop is always a good choice. I like your vocals, and it was a good decision to use every guitar track you didn't like. Great job by all involved. "Show me the magic, and everything else won't seem so tragic."Beautiful. I think I have to steal this Right, BD? Those guitar parts are a HUGE, subtle part. Steal away, my friend. In the original the line was more bland: "Show me the magic. No comic, no tragic." Pretty lame, huh? So glad you shared the song Marty. Lovely song. Super vocal and lyric. Loved the basslines and Dave's guitar work was perfect for the song.. Thank you, Scott. Life is better when you're around. Marty,
An awesome song and production. Sounds pro...
Love your vocal and Dave's guitar lines. Glad you rescued this one from the 90's!
Excellent!
Bob Thanks, Bob. There're always a lot of rescuing old songs on this forum, and I love it. It really demonstrates BiaB's incredible use as a creative tool. Later this year, I'll post another version of this with Ray Cochrane on bass. Well Marty, I am once again so impressed by the quality of recordings and production that you produce for us to listen to! I'm crazy about acoustic based music and the crisp clean acoustic on this is so mellow and pleasing and then when you add your superb bass and Dave's tasteful and tone-full electric...well...I'm completely hooked and that's not to mention the quality of the lyrics and melody...oh by the way did I mention the lyrics and melody...everything you guys do is crazy good...thanks for 'showing us the magic'...again! Thanks so much, Dan. I'm with you on the acoustic; seems I use one in nearly every song.

I don't like nothing about this Magically positive lyrics, you know your voodoo. Catchy melody and pleasant chord progression. Nice 60's feel, reminds me of The Everly Brothers, I like the vocals, especially the backing ones and the fast section in the end. Dave's guitar adds electrifying modern touch. Beautiful video, although that cat should have had bigger part Janne

Marty,
I felt gospel in the undercurrent of this song. The melody is very pop and can withstand any arrangement. Your vocals make this song even more exciting. The lyrics are very positive as usual. The video is also interesting because scenes reminiscent of Harry Potter are inserted. Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.
Best regards.
Shigeki Adachi Good news, indeed. Thanks so much for listening and your kind comment, Shigeki. Nice easygoing pop - a bit of a '70s throwback. As for your question: the vocals make the song, of course! But Dave's guitar certainly helps make it that much better! Thanks, David! Marty
Very nice, melodic, pretty and well played and sung.
(what would the guitarist know!)
Enjoyed it.
Peter HAHA. Yesh, you get it, Peter. Thanks! Marty, Don't know how original sounded, but this is very neat. I like your "no pressure" tunes. Definitely something I need to learn from you. Good lyrics and vocals & arrangement. Dave sounds great! Good choice of keeping those tracks Mix is very clear. Easy listen. Good job on the video. Stayed longer and listened to "Somewhere In The Loss". Super tune. Thank you for sharing. Misha. P.S. I wonder of personality of the cat breed on vid. We had rescued a British blue at one point. She was very different from all other cats I encountered. Thanks, Misha!! Yeah, I thought that cat was quite interesting, but I'm not good with breed categories. I'll ask my 8-y-o granddaughter who wants to be a vet. She'll know.

Magical song. I love the sound you created with a touch of 60s flavor. Harmonies are tasty and melody is fantastic. There is passion in your voice. This is one of my favorites. I agree with you, Dave's guitar is great. And your bass line caught my attention right away.

Marty, Terrific BAND. Balanced, supportive. Dave's guitar is, of course, just right. And OH that Bass!! A lot of feeling in the vocals. Good mix. That chorus is Pure Magic. fj Thanks, Floyd. Yeah, there never was (is or likely will be) any doubt that Dave would come through. As for me, yep, I'm a sucker for the kind of magic expressed in the lyrics. Hey Marty, I liked this! The band sounds good... I was half way through before I even noticed there was no drums. Very nice vocal and the background vocals are outstanding! Great Job! Greg Thanks, Greg. You're the first to mention no drums. I was helping a drummer friend setup a DAW to record his drums, and I showed him the advantages of BiaB, which he quickly bought, and he wanted some drummerless tracks to play with. This is one I made for him, and I kinda liked it without. The drummer is still on the WAV and Mp4 files on my website. Thanks for your listen and comment. Marty,

What a joy this song is, Marty!
Your vocals really shine in this and your enthusiasm is contagious.
We agree with you that Dave’s guitar is spot on and we also like the piano. As always, your bass is exceptional.
The video was cool and reminded us of just how those different ways of reaching our Nirvana spots are indeed magical.
Your vocal outro is outstanding and had us both smiling!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
