Show Me The Magic (Pop) on Soundcloud Show Me The Magic (Pop) on YouTube This song was originally written and recorded in 1991. It was redone a couple years ago with BiaB, and is on my 3rd album, but never posted here. I wanted to redo it slower with a more folksy feel, and also wanted to explore more of BiaB's MultitStyles. This version I called pop (after the Style), and there is a more elaborate one called Reggae. Key=G , Tempo 99, Length (m:s)=4:14 Style is _PJONPBA.STY (Pop Ballad Piano & Acoustic Guit) RealTracks in style: 1728:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm PopBalladJohn Ev 085 RealTracks in style: ~362:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 085 RealTracks in song: ~703:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Spirited Ev 085 RealTracks in song: 3959:Synth, Rhythm StripMallStrings 65 MIDI SuperTracks in song: 1801:Synth Pad, PopShiningSoft Ev 120 RealDrums in style:NashvilleEven8^2-a:Sidestick, HiHat , b:Snare, HiHat Dave Bell of Blue Attitude added a couple guitar tracks, but didn't like either of them, so I used both. I like what he came up with, and it's not an easy song to add guitar. In my opinion, his playing is what makes the song. Opinions can differ, and I'd love to hear yours. I played bass and sang. Show Me The MagicYou never do nothing, you never say nothing, and I surrender to your charms. A no-no means something. You never never nothing when you're here laying in my arms. Really great, Marty. I can tell it's that good when I forget to listen critically, and just listen ... which, sadly, happens very rarely for me. And yes, Dave's solos are at his usual high standards :-) Well done to both - loved it.

I've come to expect pro polished output from you and your crew Marty, and this one is up there with all of your other work. We never do nothing
https://soundcloud.com/user-646279677BiaB 2023 Windows For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Hey there Marty - loved the intro to this song, the melody and chord changes are all great. I hate to disagree with a fellow guitar picker, but I do in this case. You're right, I thought the guitar sounds really make the song - but that was some strong bass playing/mixing too. Cool slide at 2:11.

Cracking chorus Marty. Dave does his Dave thing very well and the bassman is a keeper. The voice, harmonies included, are, yet again a warm welcome of expression and emotion.

Dave Bell of Blue Attitude added a couple guitar tracks, but didn't like either of them, so I used both.
Made me laugh when I read that I had actually forgotten about this one. Turned out pretty good!

Very cool song, Marty!
You are always such a positive man; in your comments, in your lyrics and in your emails. Probably in many more cases, but these are the ones I personally know of
A wonderful rhythm, nice chord progression and very good vocals! And I also love the BG-vocals. Very nice. You are getting close to the Gibb brothers... You see, I can come cloe in behaving positive. In this case not a problem at all, because I mean it all. Still, you win on that front!
But it's a revelation you disliked two guitar tracks from Dave (mind you!). As I can read in his reply he wasn't even shocked. He laughed...!

Lovely love song with a very catchy chorus. And pop is always a good choice. I like your vocals, and it was a good decision to use every guitar track you didn't like. Great job by all involved. "Show me the magic, and everything else won't seem so tragic."Beautiful. I think I have to steal this
Making bits and bytes sound good... Me on YouTubeA worn acoustic guitar, an even older keyboard, some software and lots of ideas...

Yeah, always putting a positive spin on double negatives. Seems the language is changing to accept the no-no faux pas. Hey, I like that. Brad Thanks, Brad. No need for concern in disagreeing with Dave. hehe Glad you you feel his parts elevate the song, ands you agree with me. Cracking chorus Marty. Well Marty, I am once again so impressed by the quality of recordings and production that you produce for us to listen to! I'm crazy about acoustic based music and the crisp clean acoustic on this is so mellow and pleasing and then when you add your superb bass and Dave's tasteful and tone-full electric...well...I'm completely hooked and that's not to mention the quality of the lyrics and melody...oh by the way did I mention the lyrics and melody...everything you guys do is crazy good...thanks for 'showing us the magic'...again!

Marty,
I felt gospel in the undercurrent of this song. The melody is very pop and can withstand any arrangement. Your vocals make this song even more exciting. The lyrics are very positive as usual. The video is also interesting because scenes reminiscent of Harry Potter are inserted. Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.
Best regards.

Nice easygoing pop - a bit of a '70s throwback. As for your question: the vocals make the song, of course! But Dave's guitar certainly helps make it that much better!

Marty, Don't know how original sounded, but this is very neat. I like your "no pressure" tunes. Definitely something I need to learn from you. Good lyrics and vocals & arrangement. Dave sounds great! Good choice of keeping those tracks Mix is very clear. Easy listen. Good job on the video. Stayed longer and listened to "Somewhere In The Loss". Super tune. Thank you for sharing. Misha. P.S. I wonder of personality of the cat breed on vid. We had rescued a British blue at one point. She was very different from all other cats I encountered.

Marty, Terrific BAND. Balanced, supportive. Dave's guitar is, of course, just right. And OH that Bass!! A lot of feeling in the vocals. Good mix. That chorus is Pure Magic. fj

Hey Marty, I liked this! The band sounds good... I was half way through before I even noticed there was no drums. Very nice vocal and the background vocals are outstanding! Great Job! Greg

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
