Hi Folks.
A short tune I finished a couple of weeks ago. This was in a way a musical postcard to family and friends who celebrate March 8th. (International Women's Day). Perhaps, not "romantic" enough, but that's the best I could come up with smile All comments are welcomed and thank you for giving this time!

All I Want To Hear

Woke up in the middle of the night
Oh beautiful silence,
Vanishing islands - remnants of dreams.
I would stay in this magic limbo,
until morning kalimbas start to sing.

Walking on shards - relics of glass ceiling
Emptiness that someone calling "art"
In a cacophonic world that's so chilling,
All I want to hear is a beating of your heart.

There's time for sorrow, time for joy,
time for doing nothing, wasting lazy hours.
Colors run - under autumn showers,
this beyond your powers. Love is not a toy.

Walking on shards of memories and feelings,
dusting off long forgotten art.,
In a cacophonic world that's so silly..
All I want to hear is beating of your heart

Sitting on a rock by the river
waving to passing clouds.
In a polyphonic world that's so busy...
All I want to hear is a beating of your heart.

Lovely song Misha,
plenty of romance in it.
A wonderful series of images for my mind to recreate.
Sonically sumptuous too.

Cheers

Hi Misha,

Wow - this is some production - a heap of work went into this.

I particularly enjoyed the light and shade, lead break and vocals.

Excellent.

Best Regards
Nigel

Misha,
I like this gentler side of your music- as Ray says, there`s lots of romance in the images and in your understated vocals.
The harmonizing on vocals works well and both band and production sound just right.
Nice phrasing on "cacaphonic" and"polyphonic"!

"All I want to hear is a beating of your heart." that's romantic enough in my ears. In a cacophonic world, this is a relaxing message, I miss true silence when living near the world of highways, street works, building sites and snowmachines.
Pleasantly beautiful melody and chords. Enjoyable instrumentation, especially the bassline, but there's also many nice interesting details.
Great vocals, enjoyed the scatting parts. Great mix, very spacious.

Beautiful song and well produced. I would put it in the melancholy category rather than romantic, but that's just me.

I think the verses would work better without the vocal harmonies to better show off your beautiful baritone.

Janice said she loves the imagery from this verse especially!

What a great lyric and the band is so joyous. The funky bass and the guitar solo were highlights.

Your vocals were perfect and we loved the scatting outro. Nice!

Love it!

What they said!

You've got a nice blend of poetic and melodic, which isn't always easy to balance. How do you even come up with a phrase like "morning kalimbas", anyway? laugh

The arrangement is cool - there are some really neat bits of chorusing and reverberation. The mix is nice and clear, and your vocal is great as well.

Excellent.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Kismet. After listening to Ray's song, this one started, and I quickly turned it off knowing that I wanted to get back here to listen to your new one. Ha.

Anyway, cool using the octave voices. Yes, as Dave mentioned, your songs are always sucha treat in headphones. Sometimes I read your lyrics first, then listen and listen again. Sometimes the other way around. Always a treat, and your lyrics are always so very good. This one has a haunting melody that captivates the listener. Good write and satisfying production, Misha.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Great stuff, love that swing beat. The vocal octave parts in the verse are effective! The vocals are delivered in a very intriguing way! THe whole song has a wonderful, polished sound with really good instrumental choices! I felt this was great work! Thanks, TB.

Misha,

It mixes elements from various music genres and creates a unique atmosphere.
The vocals sung in octaves over the bass and guitar are very attractive.
The phrase "All I want to hear is a beating of your heart." sticks in my mind.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

You make the most intriguing productions and squeeze the most from the BIAB tracks. Cool cool sound.

Again, striking imaginative lyrics. I like the change in the chorus from cacophonic world to polyphonic world tin the last round.
