The Waltz of a Lonely Soul

The title says it all.

BiaB style = Recuerdo - 3/4 solo nylon guitar
Tempo = 70 BPM

Bass - Kontakt - Kurt Hunter Virtuoso cellos - note BiaB only wrote the part where the strings are. I played the rest of the bass line via my keyboard controller.
Piano - Kontakt - Maiori strings
Strings - Kontakt - Kurt Hunter Virtuoso strings
Guitar - I spilt the guitar into two tracks. One track has the arpeggio and the other the double pick:
Arpeggio track - Kontakt - Amadeus - nylon string guitar
Double pick track - Kontakt - Prepartissimo Mandolino (a great freebee for Kontakt)
Me - the Whiskey Series Honkytonk Harmonica via my wind controller.

As comments are welcomed.

Mario,

I am sobbing, and weeping, and lonely, and woebegotten, and forlon and devastated and heartbroken now.

Is that what you wanted????

Sounds like something Ennio Morricone would write for one of his western film scores.
Great job!

Nicely done indeed.
I got an Italian vineyard vibe in the beginning with the mandolin or guitar then later on, a Western vibe with the harmonica.
Very enjoyable.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Hi Mario,

Is your waltz a coincidence or an answer to my waltz?
Whatever, I think it's a wonderful song, nice harmonica to make you feel 'more miserable', kind of state David is in now...
I only had a question; is this a real 3/4 waltz? I didn't hear the Waltz swing (and now you say to me I also need to see a doctor for my ears or so).
But the song itself stays beautiful. I had to smile about Bas Thumpers' post. Whenever you hear a a slow howling harmonica 'Once upon a time' comes in...

Mario,
Very cool soundscape-that harmonica really brings up images of a lonesome cowboy slowly riding way.
Shane! Shane! Come back!-at least that`s what I pictured.

Hans, this was just a coincidence.
Yes this was a waltz style but not in your one, two\, three, one, two\, three format. I'm glad that you liked this one.

Thanx Robert. You are right that the harmonica does bring up that cowboy image. I didn't think about that as I was writing this!

Beautiful music. Very beautiful melody and excellent chord progression, has deep lonely soul vibe, beyond the eternity. The arrangement is very pleasant, some European flavors, mandolin and harmonica are instruments that can express strong emotions and here they produce entangling sadness. I'm impressed, the master does it again!

What Robert said, "Very cool soundscape-that harmonica really brings up images of a lonesome cowboy slowly riding way.
Shane! Shane! Come back!-at least that`s what I pictured."

Shane was the first movie Bud remembers and, man, was it ever sad.
Even though it was done 70 years ago there is still room out there for similar cinematic vibe song tunes like this.

Sell it!

Great work all around and, yep, that harp sounds fine!

A waltz. In a minor key. With a mandolin and a harmonica, so it's sad...

But there's a major section ad the end to keep it from being too sad. wink

Yep, just what the title said it was.

I enjoyed this listen. Gotta get that harmonic VSTi sometime. Sadly, my car just got an expensive repair so my "fun" money is gone for now. But it sounds like you're having fun with it. laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
