Hi Folks. This one was a bit challenging for me because a lot of MIDI was involved, which is not my strongest skill. I guess this is something from the spirit of 80s. I don't usually focus on the style specifics when I tinker with music. All critical feedback is welcomed and encouraged. Thank you for listening! Morning Sun Slipping away, from the prison of repetitive themes. Velvet spell of silence lures him into a dream. He cuts wings out of paper, flying under the moon. He can hear chants of the river, sad whispers of dunes. Morning sun claws on the window, tickling toes under the blanket. Even lazy birds are calling day to start. Narrow path for escape From the solitude's dungeon Carving bricks of silence to peculiar shapes He cuts a ship out of tree bark, Conquers high waves under storm. He don't know yet, where the sail will take him, When is he coming home Morning sun claws on the window, Tickling toes under the blanket. Even lazy birds are calling day to start. Misha,
Great song - love the lyrics and the arrangement. Excellent vocal as well.
Love the way you used the MIDI with the other tracks. Everything blends so well.
A really nice piece of music...

Very ambitious effort. Good for you. Well done. Tell me about your vocals. Are these overlaid dual tracks or do you have a specific FX going on.
Nice Job.

That's a pretty cool 80s new age/synthpop sound that I like. A lot! Arrangement and production are good, nothing to complain about there.
One suggestion (not a criticism): in the parts where your voice is not doubled, you sound a bit like Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode. If you sang a little 'darker' or more mysterious and add some reverb, you'd come pretty close to the Depeche Mode sound.

The very beginning made me think it was going to be a Vangelis/Gallipoli style. excellent lyrics and your MIDI is pretty cool. Vocals are, as always, secretive, expressive, mysterious and joyful by turns.

Oh, you know I look forward to what is Misha putting out next. Never disappointed. I read you lyrics first, and was so curious to hear the melody. Never disappointed. I thoroughly enjoy your expressive vocals and twice as much with two. So glad you accepted the challenge. This is perfectly produced. Excellent progression. I particularly like the "scatting" parts.

Love the way you think, Misha!

Lyrics like a Dream. A musical bed that carries that perfectly. You are doing interesting stuff with synths. Dreamy. Very cool. Well mixed.

Outstanding MIDI Misha. I doubt very much that MIDI is your weakness. A very strong vocal. Super lyrics Great mix

Misha,
Artful work, and a creative, engaging arrangement. Excellent mix! Yeah, I can hear the 80s vibe in this . . . but, actually, it reminds me very much of a song that BIAB’s Spirit Level could have done. A very similar poetic write coupled with a compelling melody. Outstanding work on this one!
Best regards,
Deej

Your songs are so innovative and sonically interesting, I wouldn't even know where to make any suggestion.
The mix sounds great in my speakers, the vocals are clear and up front, and musically lots of cool things are happening.
Everything fit together for me!

Misha,
Love all the different layers and textures of sound you have blended so well! It doesn't sound like you had any difficulty navigating the midi world on this! Your work always has a lot of complexity in the arrangements! You've done a beautiful job with this track!
Thanks, TB

The lyric is spellbinding and we especially like these two segments:
“Slipping away, from the prison of repetitive themes. Velvet spell of silence lures him into a dream.”
“Morning sun claws on the window, tickling toes under the blanket. Even lazy birds are calling day to start.”
The first reminded us of the last three years of daily life and the second of Janice’s fondness of watching the morning birds and squirrels from our bedroom window.
This has a best of the 80’s feel indeed, like a cross between David Bowie and Dire Straits.
You did a great job with the midi and, as always, your band is magical. Great solo guitar. Outstanding mix.
We agree with Ray about your great vocals: “secretive, expressive, mysterious and joyful, by turns.”
Love it!

Misha, you have done it again!
Not going to try and analyze this, suffice to say that you held me spellbound from start to finish. Oh I did want to mention the guitar leads, the way he phrases reminds me of Mark Knopfler, especially like the fills between the vocals.
Very much enjoyed.

Bit different arrangement, still very enjoyable vehicle to carry your always poetic lyrics full of magic unicorns This time also instead of gloomy apocalypse, very beautiful dreamscape story. The 80's sounds and the vocals remind me of A-Ha. Janne

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
