Thank you Brad. Rob - great song. I always enjoy old cowboy tunes, and love your writing and imagery in this. Every June several friends and old co-workers of mine gather in the back country of the Sierra mountains near the Nevada/California line. They spend days out camping, riding horses and mules, building campfires, telling truth, lies and cowboy poetry. My brother and I and a couple of friends would bring our guitars and sing old cowboy songs from dinner time to the early morning hours. This song really takes me back there 'cause it would fit right in. Thanks for posting this one!
Brad

Thank you Deej56. Rob,
This is excellent! You’ve really captured the feel of the old American west . . . really like the write, but the vocals and production elements are equally stellar. Nice touch on the whistling. What a treat it was to listen to. Outstanding!
All my best to you,
Deej

Perfect feel for the stockman --er, rather cowboy, Rob. Lyrics are also perfect --especially the chorus. Hollywood has clouded the image of the cowboy, but I'd like to know more about the stockman. But, like Ray say, gotta play to the wide audience. This is a great anthem and should be heard by many. Is that your friend in the pic? Perfect pic either way.

Many thanks, Mario. An excellent old style cowboy song. Great vocal, whistling, and harmonies. Good mix.

Thanks Guys. "So boil up some coffee and cook me some beans. The sunsets as good as I've ever seen. Lay out my bedroll beneath those sweet stars. That's all an old cowboy can do." Excellent! This is delightful, Rob! We grew up on western novels, tv shows, movies and music and you’ve captured that world. The imagery in the lyric is so good and your vocals are great. Love the ending! The BiaB guys really nail the mood and that drum track was a very nice surprise. Enjoyed it! J&B P.S. We also discovered “dampers” from the comments by Ray and Peter and Janice cooked some today - but we did have coffee rather than tea.

Hi Rob...
Yeah, I liked it a lot. I really enjoy those old "campfire" tunes. Although Tex Ritter had a much deeper voice than you, I closed my eyes and imagined him singing this.
You took me back to the early 1950s, Rob. I would have 8 or 9 years old then. A really cool song and so perfectly presented. Goppd work!
Alan

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
