My, My on Soundcloud My, My on YouTube Had this crazy melody and some lyrics in my head. They came from the usual place –wherever that is. I knew it had to be Dixieland, and BiaB was more than ready to accommodate. Key=A , Tempo 151, Length (m:s)=2:07 4 bar intro, 72 bar chorus, from bar 5 to bar 76. Repeat x1 chorus Style is _DIXIELD.STY (Dixieland Rhythm Section) RealTracks in style: ~1616:Tuba, DixielandFast Sw 165 ('A' only) RealTracks in style: ~1615:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm DixielandFast Sw 165 RealTracks in style: ~1614:Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm DixielandFast Sw 165 RealTracks in style: ~1613:Banjo, Tenor, Rhythm DixielandFastA-B Sw 165 RealTracks in song: ~1619:Clarinet, Soloist DixielandFast Sw 165 RealTracks in song: ~1624:Trombone, Soloist DixielandFast Sw 165 RealDrums in style:Dixieland^2-a:Brush LH Drag, b:Brush Ride I played bass and sang. [eye say you owe me} was the rhyming pattern I used. Get it? My, MyMy, my, oh, my, my. I can't lie for your alibi. You'll just have to satisfy the time that's due. You say, "That's okay. I'm not busy anyway. All my debts I gotta pay for crimes. That's true." Boo-hoo, you drew a clue. Now you know just what to do as your life is going through this change. You'll see. Oh, no, just take it slow. Don't get lost in the undertow. All the weeds forever grow in rains so free. CiCi, she can see all the glee that's surrounding me. She knows they will set you free from wrong. That's right. Bye-bye. Don't you cry. Wipe those tears from your crying eyes. All the days you'll realize are long. Good night. Intro-- A7 C#7 G#7-B7 E7 V— A7 C#7 F#7 F#7 B7 E7 A7 E7

Dixieland suits your voice really well! Great instrumental choices. Something odd happened in the outro. You might want to revisit that part in BIAB.

Edited to say: I just watched the video - very cool! Thanks, Bob. Seems a Dixieland clarinet is always swimming around in my head. Dixieland suits your voice really well! Great instrumental choices. Something odd happened in the outro. You might want to revisit that part in BIAB. Thanks, Dewey. Not sure I hear any anomalies in the outro --just what sounds like a bunch of drunken jazz players doing an after-hours session.

Mr. "Enjoy whatever happens" again ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) I think you could sing about a funeral and still make it fun and entertaining. Enjoyed my listen. A lot. And listened a second time for good measure ![](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

I'm pretty sure that only I would be the sad one. Dave is always gracious when I ask him to make my songs better, but I'm sure he's grateful that I don't once in awhile. ![wink wink](/forums/images/graemlins/default/wink.gif) DIG the walking jazz bass. Funny story with heaps of rhymes to add to the charm & joy. Love the licorice stick solos. ACE. Ah, another fan of the clarinet. Thanks, Ray. The tuba was just playing his usual 5ths, so I had to jazz it up a bit. Hi Marty,
Loved the song, the mix, the vibe and the vocals.
Excellent work.
Best Regards Nigel Thanks, Nigel!! Mixing those horn guys was a bit challenging.

Sounds great, Marty, nice arrangement and really liked the video. Thanks, Dave. MAN, we got a couple good ones in the hopper ready to be released. This is fun, and thanks for that. Mr. "Enjoy whatever happens" again ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) I think you could sing about a funeral and still make it fun and entertaining. Enjoyed my listen. A lot. And listened a second time for good measure Thanks, BD. Hey, ya know what's funny. I was writing some lyrics yesterday and was going to ask you if they were correct. Ha. I guess that's how much I think of your English abilities. Thanks for everything. Hahahaha - grinning from ear to ear! Brilliant! The bass is wonderful, the melodies are fun, your singing is on point ... and I'm dancing like there is no tomorrow! Reminds me of Baloo's "The Bare Necessities", from "The Jungle Book" ;-) - and that's a MAJOR compliment :-) Superb.
Fun, fun video!!! Much darker lyrics than the tune suggests, am I right? ;-) Superb job, the juxtaposition of those darker lyrics to the dancing tune is seamlessly done. Hats off to you, sir - bravo.

Marty,
Sweet set of Realtracks you expertly put together here! Love the way your musical mind works! Your bass work in this is phenomenal! You were hitting more notes than McCartney did in Nowhere Man! Love Your vocal, always makes me smile! Your positivity and encouragement to others around here is one of the best things that's happened to this forum in recent years!
Take care, TB

Marty,
What a fun listen that was . . . Going dixieland on this was a moment of inspiration . . . just the perfect mood and feel for this lyric and your vocal shines. A toe-tapper for sure. Very cool!
Hope all is well in your world,
Deej

This is a classic Marty composition. Very upbeat and optimistic.
I love the style. It works well with the melody and lyrics. A step back in time.
Bass line is primo!
