You called me by her name last night

Everything is clear now
I am awake
Thought I had a true love
But all of it was fake
Everything is crystal
So much I could say
Doesn’t seem to matter, though
Everything has changed

You called me by her name last night
No apology can put that right
I was only ever your back-up plan
Took so long but now I understand
Should’ve known that something wasn’t right
You called me by her name last night

It will disappear now
The future I thought fated
Everything is clear now
All the time that I have wasted
Everything is clear now
My viewpoint has been shifted
Whisper in your ear, my love
Should’ve known that you were twisted

You called me by her name last night
You cried a little and you held me tight
All I was to you was a back-up plan
Turns out you were just a hollow man
Should’ve known that something wasn’t right
You called me by her name last night

Ooooooooo
I trusted you
Oooooooooo
I trusted you
You called me by her name
Nothin’ ever gonna be the same
You called me by her name last night
You called me by her name last night

Peter, Leon, Janice & Bud,

This is an excellent refresh of a great song. Love the RTs and the lead guitar.

Janice as always sounds tremendous. The new backing vocals are perfect.

Bud is a wizard - this version sets a high bar for mastering. Just an incredible sound.

Loved it all!

When Peter, Leon, Janice & Bud get together you know you are in for some real ear candy and this was no exception!

As usual all parts fit perfectly together:
Janice's vocal was perfect,
Peter's guitar was perfect,
Bud's mix was perfect, and
Leon's lyrics were great!

Loved it.

PS - I was smiling all through this one. A friend was over with girlfriend #1 and called her girlfriend #2's name. All hell broke lose! Thus I can, as an observer to the crime, really get this one!

"Should’ve known that you were twisted"
Excellent jibe.
My ONLY nit is the non English/Australian pronunciation of "a" though o many folk in Australia use the Americanism that I'm a small cricket in the distant night.
The "package", if I may be so crude, is fabulous.

Cheers

Thank you, Peter! I wasn't here 7 years ago, and this is way too good to miss. Love the long title. This is why players call their partners Babe or something similar. Such a fine guitar solo --no surprise. Janice --well, who knew in the 60s I would ever end up saying the best Janice voice has much more merit than what was currently available. YES! You picked the master for the mastering. An excellent choice for an excellent song -- or any song really.

Enjoy whatever happens!

LPB&J...

WOW. This is good!
The Mix is EXCELLENT. The sound of the Bass and Drums is exceptional. Solid backing.

OMG, those vocals! And here's the kicker...those HARMONIES might be even better than the main! GOOSEBUMPS.

Peter's guitar work - gems all over the place.

A Good Write. The chorus is especially nice. One of your best.

Great Listening.

The write is solid, vocals excellent, clear mix, and the guitar solo is short (sorry, couldn't resist wink ).

Excellent! laugh

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
