Hi Marty. Thank you for that. The harmonies sound a little flat to me in places too but I re recorded them and they still sound a little off. I wasn't too worried as no one had mentioned it until now. I will try again.

Hi Vic, Didn't hear the original, but the new version sounds fine to me. Good track, and your vocal sounds fine to me. I gave it a "like" over on SC, for what that's worth!

Vic,
A nice rocker.
Mix-wise... (opinions, of course) - for a "rocker" the vocals could be tucked into the mix more. They are really clear and up-front - I can understand every word - more of a Country or singer/songwriter kind of vocal mix. The piano and (especially) the organ could be louder and prouder. They sound like you are trying to hide them (not saying you are, just that's how it sounds).
Keep rockin'!

Thanks Floyd. I'm almost at my wits end with this one. I've had conflicting opinions both on and off the forum. still not sure which way to go but I'm leaning to the country side at the mo. There is no piano on this. Maybe what you can hear is the 12 string strumming. I've upped that gain and the organ now which I suppose will upset my pal in the US who said my vocal could come up a bit. Vic

We didn’t hear the original version but it sounds like you got this rock song down, Vic. Clever take on a bad relationship. It’s fun to sometimes step into another genre, isn’t it?! J&B

I like the groove and your vocal. To my aging ears, the guitars are a bit too loud, impinging on your vocal. Otherwise, well done.

Thanks J&B. I played bass in a few rock bands years ago as it was the music thing to do then. Didn't do much singing though, apart from oohs and aahs.
Thanks for the support.

Thank you Fred. Now I'm all confused. Some say guitars too loud and some say the vocal is a little loud. Maybe a little of both will clinch it. Vic

Very nice rocking tune, those guitars are like from the 80's. Reminds me of Marc Knopfler, musically and including the vocal style, only his signature solo guitar is missing. Interesting angle in the lyrics, good storytelling avoiding cliches.

Thanks Janne. I do like Knopfler and try hard to avoid cliches.

Well, I love it. I've tried not to read the others' comments before commenting, myself, otherwise I may get influenced, one way or another. The voice is perfectly fine, the lyrics are great, the writing is great ... no problems, here. Great song.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
