Hi Folks.
For your entertainment or misery here is my new tune. To spare you the time of guessing what it's about, here is a brief story behind it. Often, when I hear a new tune I get a mixed bag of feelings. Meaning, a part of me wants to enjoy it, another part to analyze it and another part to change it.  I find the urge of  "changing" quite fascinating. This usually works on the first or second listen. It offers the brain an interesting exercise of trying to predict "what comes next": how I would have done "this or that", and  finally what turn the actual composition takes, which sends an instant feedback to the thought process.  Having confused you a little, this was just a one session vocal improvisation on the subject.  All comments are absolutely welcomed & thank you for listening.

Love-Cardiac-Arrest

Lyrics:

A glorious morning, sun is shining in the sky,
birds are singing. Picture perfect...
It's so unfortunate - that this art is a forgery.
World keeps dodging your love, but you keep still loving.

Vision blurred from the futile locomotion
thousand emotions exploding in the head
whispering spells, drinking bitter potions
-Help me doctor, I am going slightly mad.

We will be together through the stormy weather, walking
on a thorny path of life...
It's so predictable, this art reached its pinnacle.
Chaos muffles your voice, but you keep on screaming

Vision blurred from the futile locomotion
thousand volcanoes exploding in the chest
whispering spells, drinking bitter potions
Help me doc, I am having a love-cardiac arrest.

The horns in the chorus were a surprise...nice one though.
The high harmony vocals are also cool.
the scat/ad libbed vocals after the 2nd chorus were another cool point of interest and difference.
I wanted it to go on,longer...I wanted a repeats or revisits so you could throw another variation or curve balls.
In other words I enjoyed it enough to want more.
Terrific song Misha...but I've come to expect that.

Cheers

Interesting lyric against the Disco groove. Like the Major to Minor motifs. Your vocals add perfectly to this mix. The Real Tracks work great, sound great. Excellent Production, mix, and overall tone of this project. Very Nice.

Misha, love the groove on this one.
What a great arrangement you have here.
The vocal was great, as was the mix.
The horns were icing on the cake.

An outstanding production.

"Having confused you a little, this was just a one session vocal improvisation on the subject." Well, I wasn't confused at all until you said that. You're not saying that you ad-libbed these lyrics?

Man, there is so much goodness packed into this 3:44. You are so darn good at mixing in so many cool and pertinent elements in your songs. I'm currently on my second listen and I'm trying my best to think of how I would change it. Nope. My brain goes here and there saying, "How about..., nope, that perfect." I really dig the vocals at the end. Okay, maybe I'd add one more NOW to the fade.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Misha,

I had to pause this at :23 to say - Great! Opening!...Killer combination of instruments and Perfect Mix.
Pro sounding. Might be THE best opening 20 seconds of anything that's ever been posted here.
(immediately re-played it 4 times)

Your best vocal recording, too. Just right. In-the-mix and clear - perfect.

Had to pause again. THE best use of the BIAB horns I've heard.

KILLER solo section. Excellent guitar solo.
During this section, I had the thought that I might be listening to some just-found lost Steely Dan tracks.

The ending is just as good as everything else.

Your lyric is magical. As always.

All aspects - outta-the-park.

This is one of the best produced songs ever posted here.

Absolutely NOT my genre, but man, I really enjoyed this.
First of all, I think your vocals are fantastic, and the arrangement, mix and production are as good as it gets.
Very, very good work!

Not much to say after floyd's review but ...

Your vocals are always so good at conveying emotions and this song really highlights that quality.
And your vocals also sound loose and relaxed (a great thing!) and the ending scat is cool.

We liked the band and those horns and the guitar solo were superb.

Your lyric is always a treat, as is your cover art.

Most enjoyable.

Wow!

Good title and excellent "love" story from the glorious morning to the top of the volcanoes.

There's funk, there's 80's disco pop, there's much more.

Cool brass work, mixed very well. Enjoyable singing and scatting.

This artwork is definitely not a forgery, but a clever combination of ideas, details and styles. You really have a vivid imagination and frighteningly rich subconscious, no AI can compete with them smile

The ultra coolest of cool.

You have a knack for creating music and arranging instrumentation that hypnotize the ears and take us on fastatic journeys.

Your vocal is great here. No complaints.

This song would be a perfect fit for a movie soundtrack.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
