Hi Folks. This was in the oven for more than it needs to be. I think it's done, but your honest & constructive critique on any aspect of the tune is always welcomed. Thank you for listening! Mariana TrenchLyrics: Mama said: -I want you to be happy. Papa said: -Do not cross fine red lines. A stranger whispered softly in my ear: -Don't toss your precious pearls in a front of a swine. Give me your hand and I will show you the depth of Mariana Trench A friend told live life to your fullest, A foe told me to count my days. I found a note written by a stranger, saying: "Man has to find his own ways". Servant of Law spoke of compassion, Sending soldiers to die. He was looking for signs, but there was nothing but lies. VERY cool. The depths of the trench, despair & desire. Every thing sounds as it should be - nothing extraneous and nothing missing. That's a delicate balance to achieve. the delay/echo of the outro harmonica was extra nice. Great story Misha, terrific performance too.

Misha,
Mysterious, brooding and a great chord progression. You do these songs so well.
Your vocal is excellent - love the production and tracks selection. The piano sounds great!
Loved it!

Misha,
You do not write songs. You write 4-minute novels set to music. Amazing. And always thought-provoking.
Excellent production. As always. Your arrangements are so well thought out. That might be the cleanest sound I've ever heard from a BIAB piano. A very clean, crisp mix.
Creative.

You easily have the most unique musical style of anyone on these forums. It's always a cool treat to listen to the music you create.
This is no different.... This one has a very interesting meaning ....at least as I see it.... another love story.
Nice job.

I love your storytelling, Misha. It's always a bit mystical, I like that a lot. The production is also really good, there's absolutely nothing to complain about. Great job

Misha,
What a great story.
You write some of the most in-depth lyrics and set them perfectly in the most intriguing chord progressions and backing tracks.
I think it is done to perfection,
I want my last spoken words to be "I hid a million dollars under the........................"

As usual, a song that takes me somewhere unexpected.
Bright mix - a bit less busy than usual, but that's an observation, not a complaint.
No critiques - cool song.

This is a song that lives up to its name – very deep.
My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile

Misha...this is a super track....the pauses are so well placed and poignant...you did a magnificent job of conveying the story with the marriage of lyric and music style and performance...your vocal was compelling...I really enjoyed everything about this piece!

DEEEP! Trench deep. Always love your lyrics, Misha, and you write such cool musical accompaniment for them. Whenever I try to pick out a line or two that really knocked me, I end up complying the whole story. Your vocal delivery is so good --perfect. I can't imagine anyone else. Yep, the mix is perfect to my ears.

Cool blues, I like Slavic flavors in the melody. Nice story, very very deep I really like this line: "But then she entered the door and left nothing but wind". Excellent mix, vocal details bring lively and intimate feel. I like the cello sounding like from The Game Of Thrones, that's very nice break. And the ending is very beautiful and mystical (actually, I was hoping to hear a Chinese gong as the last sound). Janne

That is one outstanding production Misha. Like floyd alluded to your lyrics are like a novelette. And wow were those words showcased by the melody.
They make one think about the ambiguities of life indeed.
Your vocal is powerful and nuanced and we much liked the forward placement in the mix.
And speaking of the mix it is excellent and wonderfully showcases the piano and harmonica. The cello was a nice choice also.
In summary it is deserving of many listens and contemplation.

Hi Misha,
A most wonderful song and story told/sung with that mysterious voice of yours. Great! I can only agree with the words of all that wrote their posts to you.
I also enjoyed the instruments you used, especially that piano. And you mixed them so bright.
I enjoyed it very much, Hans

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
