1. The “signature” has disappeared from my posts and others I view. I checked and I do have the option to see them on.

2. I tried adding a smiley emoji from my keypad to a post. It worked but when I submitted the post I got a database error msg. I deleted the emoji and resubmitted and received a msg that it had already been sent. But it didn’t show on the forum and thus I lost the post’s content.

Anybody else?

Thanks,
Bud

regarding #1.... Click on your name in the upper right, preferences, and go down to Show Signatures and select "Always" I know my first few posts in the new forum software didn't show my signature.... I was like.... What the HEY? This is not cool.....

regarding #2.....I don't often use emojis...... :-) cool But apparently it's working for me.....

Note: I had to go to full reply and select the emoji from the row above the text box.... simply doing the semicolon dash parenthesis doesn't work.......

NOTE #2: you can now edit covertly... just uncheck the box.... what do you mean? Huuuuh? I never said THAT!

Hahaha.

Like I mentioned I made sure signature was turned on - I should’ve said “always”
is checked. So meaning the issue continues for me. For the emoji thing did you select it from your mobile device keyboard or from the forum option? Selecting from the keyboard is what blew up my post.

Thanks,
Bud

PS can you see my signature with the links, etc.?

Bud,
FWIW I can see your signature; see attachment.

And I use the Smiles icon on the Full Editor which seems to work fine.
It's located next to the Font Color icon.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Weird. I can’t see mine or any others. I’m familiar with that emoji option. I just tried to insert one on the new forum from my phone keyboard and that blew the post.

Thanks for letting me know you can see my signature.

Looks like signatures don't show on mobile. I'll look into that. Thanks.

Can you describe what you mean by inserting one from your phone keyboard? I'll look into that as well, but I'm not sure exaclty what you mean.

Thanks for your help Andrew. The issue occurs when I select the smiley emoji from my iPhone - not from forum options. The emoji appears in my post and on the preview but when I submit what I originally described occurs. Error msg says something like “database error” and when I delete the emoji and try again I get the message saying it’s already been submitted. Perhaps specific to my device? iPhone 14 Pro with latest OS and Safari.

Thanks, I can duplicate this. Question - have you EVER been able to add emoji's to your posts, or is it something you just decided to try now? The previous forum would definitely not have been able to handle emoji characters... (I think it would have just stripped them out)

Not only would it strip out the emoji, it would drop all text afterward.

No, not in the previous forum. I tried it in the new forum to see if perhaps it would work. Since the previous forum would strip it I immediately noticed that it appeared in my post in the new format and proceeded to submit it.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
