Anyone know any good plugins that emulate the sound of different venues? I used to have this waves plug-in called S360 surround reverb or something like that which had a preset that made it sound like your mix is being played in a arena. Wondering if anyone knows any good alternatives?

Live sound recreation/emulation, is primarily going to be based on the space. That is a function of reverb. Your reverb setting will determine if you sound like you are in a closet, small room, studio, club, large arena, or outdoors.

So as far as I'm aware, it would be whatever reverb you like. And yep, there's a lot of options out there and they all kinda sound similar but they all also kinda sound unique. They all have their own unique coloration and characteristics. It all depends on what you like. There's a learning curve to get it sounding realistic.

Live?

if that's the only criteria, good luck with that.

You have to know what kind of room you want to be "live" in. Recital hall? Church with carpeting? Cathedral? Sports arena? Club with patrons (yikes!)?

I have a ton of Reverb effects. Hard to recommend any without having a clue as to what you want.

that made it sound like your mix is being played in a arena

So I'm guessing an arena .. where I'm from that would imply LCA which is both a NBA basketball arena and an NHL hockey arena in the same room depending on the night as well as a concert venue (Taylor Swift played there not long ago, I think Springsteen did also among others).

Make your sound your own!
.. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Since the OP specifically asked for a "S360 surround reverb", I think we'd better ask for a better description.

I don't think anyone uses BIAB in a surround sound environment, do they? The original question doesn't make much sense.

Firstly, Welcome.
BiaB is (mostly) recorded in Stereo. Some clever audio effects could deliver a surround sound, but presumably you would use multiple speakers (5 or 5.1) instead of two to achieve the best effect.

The Waves plugin still seems to be available. See this link.

Most reverb plug ins have variations from room to hall. Many have more. The native Reaper Reaverbate allows room size to be adjusted with a slider and reflection variations to be incorporated. Do a little net search for free arena reverb.
The number available will depend on your OS though. Many more for W & fewer for Crapple.

Cheers

Arenas and stadiums are generally less than ideal for concerts and having good audio ....... just saying

Clubs vary. We played one club that was such a great room.... it wasn't hard to get a good sound and you could play at medium levels and things really sounded good. Then again I did a house gig for two and a half years in a room with 30 ft ceilings and the floor was concrete slab, the walls were all bare cinder block floor to ceiling. The room itself was a medium sized room and there was a substantial amount of natural reverb that was killer.... not in a good way either. We convinced the owner of that club to invest in curtains for the windows on the side walls and across the back wall both of which made a nice improvement in the room and when the room was full of people which it generally was, that also helped in a large way to calm the brightness of the room.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
