Apologies for missing a few of your posts in the last 3 or 4 weeks. Had a bit of real life drama.
Things seem to have settled a little at the moment so I managed to finish this one today.
The band are ( I think, first time with all the 5's):
Bass - 592
Banjo - 589
Drums - Country train brushes
Guitar - 598
Fiddle - 596
Fiddle - 593

If I Was © 2023 Vic Arnold

If I was ... a little oak tree, I'd stand my ground
over my roots.
I'd grow as tall ... as I could be, to see for miles
and spread my shoots.
And if I fall, in a hurricane,
I'd show my soul from whence I came.

If I was ... a frigate bird with big wide wings
to soar on high
I'd ride the clouds ... around the world with songs to sing. You'd hear me cry.
I'll tell the world to take good care
of all I see and all that's there.

If you were my lover. Only you for me.
There'd be no other one
climbing on my tree.

And if I was ... a rambling man with good strong boots.
I'd ramble on
I'd trust myself ... Follow my plan to take me back,
where I belong.
And if you follow me my friend
I'll stick with you until the end

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Ah, yes. "...while you're making other plans." Hope your life is back to being as good as this song, Vic. Ha, great job with all the 5s, and they all did a great job turning this into a real gasser for this old geezer. A real hopper and foot stomper. Love it!!

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi David.
I was getting some strange sounds on the vocals.
Turned out it was my foot tapping. I must learn to control my emotional feet.
Thank you.

Vic, Bluegrass at its finest.
Super vocal
Great mix
A real toe tapper.

I went line dancing last night. Well it was a roadside sobriety test, same thing.

Hi Vic,

I love bluegrass. It is such a unique and friendly sound.

This is a great a song. You've obviously got quite a few songwriting and song-performing notches in your belt! The competence contained within this creation shines.

I really enjoyed the journey smile

Good description, Noel. Thank you.
It’s a friendly and wholesome genre.
Reminds me of my late grandparents singing together around the fire.

Wonderful! Cheered me right up, this morning. I want to write one, bluegrass style, as cheerful and as uplifting as this one. I most probably won't manage to do something like that justice, but you have smile I defy anyone not to smile and tap their feet in time to the music, with this one smile Hats off.

Vic, I’m a huge bluegrass fan and get the chance to play a bit around campfires in the mountains every summer. You did a fine job with the genre and I encourage you to explore it further. Well done, Tom

Excellent. The reverb on the count in clicks had me worried but that disappeared as soon as the song started. FAB.

Cheers
