I'm searching for a particular drum groove for a song I'm working on and so I search the offerings in the Style Picker. Is it possible to solo only the drums when auditioning the styles?
I find that all the other instruments in the band end up distracting me from my mission of searching for the right drum groove. Isolating the drums during the search would make things a lot easier.
I know I can select any given style, then have the chord sheet drone on C for example and solo the drums but that's a time consuming process when auditioning many possible styles.

Maybe the script "CSVQF Biab Multi Picker Injector" by forum member musocity can be used.
Thanks for the idea but I'm rather conservative when it comes to adding to or altering software products; there's too many things that can go wrong. I'd rather continue with a relatively slow/inefficient way of doing things than risk messing something up and potentially cause unstable behaivor elsewhere in BiaB.

This came up the other day. You can't solo with the Pre-made Demo, but you can Solo from the Style Picker with the song that is loaded into BiaB:
Thanks AudioTrack, I should have stated that I already knew about your suggestion. Materially, it's not any different from selecting a candidate style and then soloing the instrument (drums in this case).
But I'm just now realizing that a better approach to obtain a suitable drum groove is a subset of a suggestion/wish I made back in June regarding an AI-driven approach.
Rather than select a candidate drum groove from a static and limited database of possible drum grooves on a hit-or-miss-basis, the software would create a drum groove based on an audio sample that it was given as a target.
So this approach would not only deliver a cutomized style that the user desires, but also the individualized instruments (like drums) that contribute to that style. In principal, the training sets could be music already recorded by the PG Music musicians, or scraped from the web or even from FM radio. I understand that today's LLM Chatbots were trained similarly. In the minds of tech companies large and small, AI is the future.
[Now I just have to remember not to ask this same question again when I find myself needing a specific guitar or organ tone ]

Why aren't you auditioning the individual drum tracks from the Drum Picker, just like you would audition any instrument RT from the RT picker.? This would like you solo drums or play with your song. What am I missing here?

It won't do that, it's like using Studio One it won't cause issues with Biab, you had some issues trying to tempo map but you did not give up you stuck with it and got it sorted. Some users are scared to use anything else but Biab.

Makes sense to me
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
Why aren't you auditioning the individual drum tracks from the Drum Picker, just like you would audition any instrument RT from the RT picker.?
That's exactly what I was hoping I could do Dan. This program is so large I never ventured into that menu sequence before. Thanks!

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
