Bob and I 10 05

My friend Bob came over last Sunday, October 5, and started jamming this chord progression. We liked it so we recorded it, hence the very clever song title. Bob is on the acoustic guitar and I am on the electric guitar. This is a one-take jam that we thought we would post, warts, and all.

BiaB style - Heartfelt MIDI 60's Brit Pop Ballad
Tempo - 70 BPM

I deleted the strings, guitar, and utility tracks.
Bass- Ample bass - preset - upright bass
Piano - Velvet - preset - MKII - 02 MKII Tine default
Drums - SSD 5 - ballad kit

As always all comments are welcomed.

I went line dancing last night. Well it was a roadside sobriety test, same thing.

Sounds great. Very easygoing feel with nice melody and guitar that kept me listening all the way to the end.

Very dreamy! Nice playing and melodic invention as the tune moves along. Really well recorded for a "jam", too! Enjoyed the listen, THANKS for posting!

Thanx so much. The jam part was Bob and my guitar parts. I brought Bob's rhythm track into BiaB, had it read the chords, then I chose a style that fit. I brought those BiaB MIDI tracks into my DAW and mixed everything.

Thanx Dan. That chord progression is strictly Bob's work. I just jammed along with him.

This reminds me of a Grateful Dead show I went to once.

I don't remember anything, but there was a 4 hour guitar solo.

You nailed it Jerry!!

smile

I am now working on a 45 minute song titled:

I Listened to a Song by Mario and Bob on November 8th and Ate some Acid and Went on 12 Voyages Around the Sun and then Ate Some Cornflakes.

Is that catchy???

smile

Thanx David, I think.

Acid? At our age isn't it antacid?

Yes it is very catchy. I can't wait to hear it!

The October 5 fell on Sunday last time in 2014 and it will happen next time in 2025, so this is really a time-travelling experience laugh
Calming song, very beautiful melody and intriguing chord progression lead me to colorful flower fields in a gentle summer breeze. I enjoyed your guitar playing. The rest of the band plays smoothly along, nice piano sound.

Oh, yeah, Mario. Writing progressions and jamming with friends was always one of my favorite things about BiaB long ago, and you and Bob do it so well. I like the progression and, wow, your guitar sounds great --especialy the tasteful way you're playing.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanx Marty. The jam part is just our two guitars, i.e. we were recording live. We liked it so I brought into BiaB, found a style we liked, imported the style into my DAW and selected the BiaB MIDI tracks' instruments. It was an educational thing for me as I have never brought a wav file into BiaB before.

FYI - Virtually all of my instrumentals start with a chord progression and a BiaB style. All of my leads are based on those chords.
