Sorrow?

Feeling down and out? Having your thoughts fade in and out?
Well this song ain't gonna help ya.

BiaB Style - Pop Rock 16th note waltz
Tempo - 60 BPM

I deleted the bass and drums. I also copied the string and utility tracks so there were two of each.
Piano - EZKeys2 - Dream Machine - MKVII Dimension
Guitar - Kontakt - Pure Jazz Vibes
Strings 1 - Kontakt - Kirt Hunter - Virtuoso Strings - Strings
Strings 2 - Kontakt - Solid State Orchestra - Strings
Utility 1 - EZKeys MIDI track - Kontakt - Amadeus - Full String Ensemble
Utility 2 - EZKeys MIDI track - Kontakt - The String Collection 2 - TSC2 In The Clouds

I am playing the fretless bass, nylon string guitar, and via my keyboard controller the Swam flute's Bansuri.

As always all comments are welcomed.

Mario, this is lovely! Don't think it sounds sad, but that just be my predisposition for unsadness. Ha! The instruments and your playing sound great. Love when the nylon string guitar comes in. Very cool composition!

Mario...beautiful melody and one of your best performances! depending on what mood you're in this could just as easily been titled "Peace" or "Tranquility or even "Hope"...that was very lovely.

Nice.

The flute sounds great.
Boy! your nylon sounds good, too!
Nice Bass sound.

A lovely piece (I found it "peaceful", rather than "sorrowful").

I did not care for the sound of the strings on the left side (sounds like chords?) - they have a "generated" sound (or "synth sound"). From the list you supplied, I would not have expected that. (they came across as "loud", too - at least on my speakers). Grain of salt stuff.

Hi Mario ...

Very, very peaceful and "settling". As mentioned previously, the flute and nylon guitar are fabulous. I agree with Floyd that the strings on the left are a bit loud. But, all that said, this is a lovely piece of music. You are so good at this pop-ambient stuff - probably the best on the forum for this style. loved it! All your music is wonderfully soothing, but this one might be the best.

Nice one Mario!

I see you are still going strong with harmonic and soothing soundscapes :-).

Thanx Floyd. The nylon is a ultra cheap $69 guitar that I put a cheap round guitar tuning piezo pickup on. I think it sounds good after a little EQ.

Those strings are synth strings, i.e. Solid State Strings and The String Collection 2. Many times I will mix them with Amadeus or Virtuoso strings. I must have messed up on the mix so thanx for pointing that out.

I think it's more of a relaxing song than a sad one.
I really like it, especially what you did with the nylon.
Enjoyed the listen.
A lot!
I think you should release a chillout album one day, you're good at that.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
