I have no idea how this occured. I was simply using F5 to tweak some BASS RTs (that is probably irrelevant) and somehow I did something that has changed the Drum track window to read 1152 SILENCE. If I click on those words in the Tracks box it tells! me that I have the correct drum track installed. Go figure. All attempts to remove 1152 SILENCE and get the Drum track to show or run have failed. I have run out of ideas. Help, I need somebody - -. Ian

Look at your Part Markers. It's possible you initiated a MultiStyle. RT1152 is a BIAB place marker instrument used sometimes when another instrument has been added to a Legacy Track which is what happens in a MultiStyle. Just guessing, there's not much information to go on.
Hi Charlie Apologies for the delay. No part markers were especially added - just the usual blue ones where I wanted a fill before a bar, as normal. The screen looks perfectly normal to me - nothing stands out. See screenshot. BUT - looking in Track Actions (I think) I must have changed SOMETHING because 1152 SILENCE has changed to a blacked out "Real Drums=" Worse - as you can see from the screenshot, the meter shows it is actually playing SOMETHING but there is no sound! See screenshot. Does that make any sense? Ian

Hey Ian. Thanks for the screen shots. Still doesn't answer the question but does give some more info. The greyed out Drums indicate the Style drums have been erased. What I suggest is to open Track Actions on the Drums Track and click on - Revert Track to Style Instrument - and try the Play button to see if that reactivates the drums. (it did on my test) If not, try the Play/Generate button. You can freeze all of the other tracks to prevent them from regenerating but don't freeze the Drums Track. If things still don't return to normal, from the Track Actions Menu, Erase the track again and try to revert again.
Also, Right Click on the Part Markers that have red underlines and look at the drums to see if there's anything there out of the ordinary.
Hope this helps. If you can upload your SGU file, I'll be glad to look at it to see if there' s anything else to try. If you can't upload, I'll be happy to give you my email by private message.
Hi Charlie SGU link. https://app.box.com/s/6mnu9811vzifzcagrbe27w0ch03hx494 Its not a finished work obviously. lol Its late here in the UK so havent had the time to look at your suggestions. BUT - if you look at Bar 33 I think I stuffed up there - maybe that is the source of the problem? Cheers Ian BTW - I tried copy and pasting the chord set into a NEW SGU and all the chord boxes were black with white writing. Is that normal? Seemed to play Ok though.

The Drums track is disabled... to enable, you can right-click on it Track Settings | select "Track is enabled" (top menu item).
Also, there is a RealTracks selected on the Drums track, which happens to be #1152 Silent. One way to fix is to right-click on the track | Select RealTracks, and click Select No RealTracks.
Andrew is correct. The Drums track was disabled. I was able to return the drums to normal using F5 at Bar 33 and change RT1152 silence to <no change> and that corrected the track.
Hi Charlie and Andrew That fixed it. Many thanks. I must have been having a very senior moment when I made that error. Been away from BB for a good 6 months due to ill health and its surprising how quickly you forget things. Ian

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
