WaoBand, this sounds nice. The instrument choices, composition and mix are first rate. So great job!
But there is a problem, though it might just be me. The long sax solo is a bit tiresome since it doesn't go anywhere. All of the individual riffs are expertly played of course, but the narrative quality of the solo is just not there for me. Others might listen and think it's fine. So maybe it is. But still...
I think building on the compositional aspects of BiaB solos will be the next frontier for BiaB and the like. With AI it's probably not that far away.

Hi Waoband,
Lovely smooth sound, good song and well mixed.
BIAB really comes into it's own with Jazz.
Best Regards Nigel

Exactly as advertised on the tin - easy going jazz with a long maj7 ending.

I'm a big fan of Smooth Jazz. I enjoyed this a lot. I do think the guitar could have come in quite a bit earlier. And maybe a touch more reverb on the sax would be nice. Nonetheless, this is a nice song I enjoyed very much.
Take care!
Alan

Smooth jazz at its finest. I agree with Al that the sax is to dry and a little reverb and maybe delay would help. I think this sounds like a smooth jazz jam as there is no defined lead line. That is not a complaint, just my observation so take it for what its worth. Great use of RTs and mixed very well.
I went line dancing last night. Well it was a roadside sobriety test, same thing.

Thanks the great responses, Ron, Nigel, David, Alan and Mario.
Alan: I tried breaking that first solo up into 2 parts, but I found nothing beat the tenor sax as an opener, and although I tried a lot of different instruments for the 2nd part nothing quite fit the bill, so I decided to make it all sax. The guitar break which I think fits perfectly had to come in the 3rd section as had it been the 2nd the sax would have then had a double-length end solo, which wouldn't have worked. Thanks for mentioning the reverb as it's something I'd not considered.
Mario: Yes, the sax does sound like an impro' jam, but I like that about it.

Hello WaoBand,
I'm not exactly a Jazz authority, but I liked what I heard! As David replied: very easy jazz. That's exactly what it is. But attractive! I heard few things that were in any way disturbing. I only agree with DC Ron on the solo of the sax. The sax could do less, in favor of other instruments. But, as I said, an attractive song!

We are blues folks who also listen to jazz ... so a slow burn jazz jam vibe is fine with us. Great display of BiaB tracks indeed. Nicely done vid also. Enjoyed it! J&B

Sensational video with a very relaxing tune. Very well crafted, Chay. I recognized those mystery vibes right at the beginning. Excelent choice of bandmates. My favorite soloist was the tenor sax. Smooth as silk over a dry martini. Enjoyable listen.

Hi Chay.
My gosh, this is nice listening. I love how you've mixed Realtracks from a number of genres to get such a smooth, easy-on-the-soul jazz sound. You done a great job with this. This is the first time I've encountered the word "Gaea". Before today, I was completely unaware that Earth had a personified name! Thanks for today's lesson. And thanks for such terrific music.
Regards, --Noel

Thanks for listening and commenting, Marty, Jazz'n'Blues J&B and Noel.
Noel: I usually use the 'Gaia' spelling, but our common Mother, our Beautiful Earth, has many personal names from other cultures, such as Scandinavian Jörð, Celtic Danu, Incan Pachamama, Hindu Prithvi and oodles of others. Re the music, I began wanting to do something for our Beautiful Earth, so although I later added a 4 bar intro I began with G A E A chords, but the final 3 chords worked better as Am Em Am. I still kept the title as "Gaea" as it sounds better than "Gamemam"!
