Hello again everyone. Something I've noticed that would be nice to change globally instead of changing each individual exported track name  The default filenames of a given track when importing into my DAW (Logic Pro X) tend to be quite long and overly descriptive. Is there a way to set BIAB more globally to favour a shorter file name when exporting tracks? For example here's a typical BIAB exported Wav File Name. Untitled BBDrums_RealDrums BodhranCelticReelFast8ths^1-Wood_SingleRender_DragDrop_2.8 Which I would normally change (manually) to "Untitled Bodhran" (Where untitled would be the name of the song). Just the song title and instrument is what I'm after here Thanks in advance! Stefan

If you click on the instrument name in the Inspector in Logic and right click it is simple to shorten the name of the Instrument.
I think if the name was shortened leaving BiaB, sometime in the future it might make things tricky knowing exactly which instrument you originally started with.

Thanks! Yes, I agree and in addition to your insight, it's not specifically the instrument name in Logic that I am talking about ... it's the actual filename of the track as imported from BIAB.
With these automatically generated long filenames it's taking additional steps to identify and manage the tracks quickly in a given folder on the computer which is why I prefer to rename the files with only "song name & instrument" . In the case of instruments filling multiple roles I may have multiple tracks of the same instrument recorded or generated so in that case I would rename as follows:
"song name/ instrument /soloist"
Or
"song, name/ instrument/ background/"
This keeps it nice and short for de-cluttering the desktop as well as the DAW workspace especially when working with multiple windows.
Also: I'm seeing that the BIAB filenames don't alway make sense ... for example when I use a cello real track I'm getting "piano" or "strings" or both in the now incredibly long filename.
If there was a setting for automated abbreviated or shortened file names when exporting It would be nice.

The unnecessary long naming convention has been raised a few times now, especially recently. Hopefully we will see this corrected.
