Hi All, Here's a jaunty tune about an evil dictator with a Napoleon complex: https://soundcloud.com/abondaruk5/putler-worldPutler World by The Fighting Bodnars I run a tight kleptocracy, my people are repressed, I’m filthy rich and they are poor; they’d better not protest. When I’m feeling antsy, my opponents end up dead, Some fly out of windows, some are shot in head. I want a new world order, our Russkiy Mir reclaimed, Rebuild the Russian empire, as the West goes down in flames. I have a lust for conquest, power and control, I have no qualms or morals, I have no heart or soul. I don’t care how many die, as I conduct my genocide, Rules apply to others, they don’t apply to me. Repeat chorus I won’t respect your borders, I won’t respect your seas, ‘Cause rules apply to others, they don’t apply to me. When I invade a country, I make up some pretext, For now, I'm gonna take Ukraine, then maybe Poland next. Repeat chorus I want a world where “might makes right,” If you push back, we’re gonna fight, And if you try to stop us, we’ll threaten you with nukes. I’m a reckless opportunist, completely conscience-free, I’m gonna die soon anyway, so I’ll start World War 3. Repeat chorus All instrumental tracks are by BIAB: WesternSwing Soloist Medley (1874) Style is _DIXMMDL.STY (Dixieland Medium Solo Medley) RealTracks in style: ~~1616:Tuba, DixielandFast Sw 165 ('A' only) RealTracks in style: ~~1613:Banjo, Tenor, Rhythm DixielandFastA-B Sw 165 RealTracks in style: ~~1635:Medley [8 bars] Dixieland, TromboneSol, GuitarAcSol, TrumpetSol, RealTracks in style: ~~1621:Clarinet, Soloist DixielandFastA-B Sw 165 RealDrums [in style:Dixieland^6-a:HiHat 2 Feel, b:Ride & Cross-stick Also used Audacity DAW for vocal edits and mixing

The last time I heard a Dixieland style protest song was...well, never. Nope, not ever. This is really original and just outstanding in every way. LOVE the arrangement and the creative use of BiaB sounds. The lyrics are quite clever but the message is direct. The vocals have an appropriate world weary raspy beauty. The harmony lines are pushed back in the mix but provide great support. There is nothing about this song that I would change. Great song!!!

.................could you sneak a broadcast of this to the State Dept.? Dan, do you actually think they would understand it?
I went line dancing last night. Well it was a roadside sobriety test, same thing.

Thank you, Mario!
I originally tried for an Eastern European-sounding gypsy music vibe, but BIAB has more Dixieland styles, so I went with that.

Very cool, and a BIG welcome to the forum, abondurak. I read this post yesterday, and couldn't wait to hear it on better speakers this morning. Well worth the wait, and what a terrific song for your first here. Good write, and I really really like the tuba treatment. Excellent lyrics.

Cool tune. Nice work on the lyrics.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
